Today, French polymath bothsxdes shares his brand new single ‘stillalive’
Self-produced and effortlessly catchy, ‘stillalive’ was born from a series of unfortunate events.
Blending cathartic songwriting with indie-pop hooks and an enticing buoyancy, it's a track to lighten up your load and remind you to keep on, keeping on. Sharing more bothsxdes said; ‘In late October, I broke my arm skating. This came at the same time as a difficult breakup, moving back to my parents’ and a lot of uncertainty in my life and musical path. This song was mostly me realising the self destructive tendencies I have and putting everything on paper. I’d love for everyone listening to not feel alone with those overwhelming feelings. These emotions don’t last forever, they’re very intense but once you get out of them, you’ll be the best version of yourself yet!’
Having only launched last year, bothsxdes has already made a significant mark. His debut EP wholedhearted, which arrived back in June, took shape as a six-track, self-made project written, produced, recorded, mixed and mastered entirely in his bedroom. Ones To Watch described it as ‘intimate as it is expansive’ whilst drawing comparisons to the likes of early Foals and Two Door Cinema Club. The EP release was celebrated with a headline show at Folklore in Hackney.
Based between Paris and London, bothsxdes has already scooped co-signs from the likes of ivri, AmiiFy and Mudi Sama and has quickly resonated with a growing fanbase who connect with his honest songwriting and indie-rock roots.
