Written about the frustration of being wanted only when someone else’s relationship fell apart, ‘WANT ME BACK’ reflects a turning point for Mobin. “I wrote WANT ME BACK about a girl I liked who only wanted me after she got broken up with,” he explains. “It was the moment I realised I deserved better, not to be someone’s backup option. For me, it’s a song about self-empowerment, and I hope that comes through in both the lyrics and the overall feel.”
Sonically, the track sits at the intersection of pop, bedroom indie and subtle electronic influences. Punchy basslines and crisp percussion underpin shimmering synths, creating a high-energy yet reflective listening experience. The result is a song that feels both personal and relatable, narrating themes of desire, longing and self-worth.
