PRE-SAVE HERE

NYC-based indie pop artist, producer & multi-instrumentalist Leah Nawy finds herself in full bloom with I Could Bloom From Here, her debut EP out July 10. Featuring songs she's written and performed over the past five years — reworked, rewritten, and refined as time passed — her first-ever collection stands as a reflection of the artistic process, constantly shooting new stems and petals, growing brighter in color, and pushing upward toward the Sun.

"The title is optimistic while almost having childlike surprise and wonder," Nawy explains. "It signals to me both having worked very hard and establishing myself as an artist, yet also 'just getting started' in terms of the trajectory of the growth."

PRE-ORDER I COULD BLOOM FROM HERE

As well as offering three brand new songs, I Could Bloom From Here features new versions of previously released tracks, including her uplifting, radiant single, "Mixing Patterns", a sonically swirling path to self-discovery led by a rush of electric guitars, an airy drum, and Nawy's momentous and gliding vocals. Singles "ordinary", and "I Was A Flower" also find themselves on the EP, yet the stripped-back moments, orchestral textures, distorted rock choruses, synth-driven sound design, soaring sax solos, and unexpected groove shifts now braided into their roots offer a new, dynamic experience with the same lyrics.

Her most recent single "Quicksand" also finds a new home on the I Could Bloom From Here EP, once again celebrating the artist's meticulous and entirely independent creative process. Entirely written, arranged, and self-produced by Nawy over the course of two years, Nawy's last single marked her first full exploration of blending electronic production with live instrumentation, culminating in a comforting message to her younger self.

"Because these songs have existed with me for so long," adds the multi-disciplined artist, "they genuinely feel like a part of who I am." Playing them at dozens of live shows, rewatching and revisitng them constantly throughout the years, she's watched her own art change with her. "For a long time I kept trying to get the older songs to keep up with who I was as I kept growing. At a certain point, I knew I had to stop reworking them, let them be what they were, and set them free. They represent who I was at the time, and I put a lot of time, effort, and care into them."

Leah Nawy is a Taiwanese-American songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who masterfully blends indie rock, folk, and soul into honest, intricate stories. Sonically and lyrically inspired by artists like Brittany Howard, Mitski, and Japanese Breakfast, Nawy carries an artistic elegance and attention to detail that is all her own. With a background in classical music, music theory, and years of playing in bands across venues in New Jersey under her belt, Nawy is ready to bring more listeners into her expansive, multi-faceted sonic universe. Last year, the artist shared the delicate, bright rock/pop tune "Mixing Patterns", which garnered support from The Boston GlobeAtwood Magazine, The LUNA Collective and more.

I Could Bloom From Here will find Leah Nawy not just fully realized with her earliest work, but also teeming with new ideas for her vibrant future. Connect with Nawy on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube and stay tuned for much more to come from the rising artist.

ABOUT LEAH NAWY

Leah Nawy is a Taiwanese-American songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist based in NYC, crafting self-written and self-produced music that blends indie rock, folk, and soul. Known for her multi-sectional songwriting and hands-on production style, she is drawn to songs that organically unfold through unexpected forms and honest storybuilding. Balancing live band energy with layered electronic textures, her work is rooted in thoughtful songwriting and a willingness to follow a song wherever it wants to go.

Originally from New Jersey, she grew up playing rock venues along the Jersey Shore before becoming an active presence in the NYC music scene, performing at venues including Mercury Lounge and The Cutting Room. With a background in classical training, music theory, and years of collaborative band experience, she pairs technical fluency with an instinctive approach to songwriting and production.

Artists like Brittany Howard, Japanese Breakfast, The Beatles, Frank Ocean, and Wolf Alice have shaped her artistic perspective, both musically and personally. Seeing Asian-American women writing, producing, and leading their own projects helped her imagine a place for herself within indie and rock music.

A graduate of The New School and BerkleeNYC, Nawy has spent the past several years releasing music, performing throughout New York City, and building a career as both a producer and artist. Her debut EP, I Could Bloom From Here, brings together songs written across a pivotal chapter of her life and marks her most complete body of work to date.
