On the video the band said: “Defcon is a song that needs to be experienced rather than explained. Just like the track itself, we wanted the video to be something you really have to sit with to feel. The raw emotion of battling a different version of yourself only felt possible by using a single person in the video. Sawyer Skipper did an incredible job directing and shooting this video to create that energy and make your body feel what you are seeing.”

Shot in Los Angeles, California and starring Koki Tomlinson, this video was made with a small but mighty crew. Sawyer and Koki rehearsed tirelessly to create the frame to frame matched moments you see throughout the video. This was a very difficult shooting tactic but creates the seamless battle between the two characters you see.”

A striking departure from the band’s previous visuals, the new piece does not feature little image directly. Instead, the video embraces a more conceptual, art-forward approach, unfolding as a visual experience designed to capture emotion and atmosphere over performance.

Designed as a subtle extension of the KILL THE GHOST universe, the visual follows a lone character through an increasingly surreal confrontation with himself, echoing one of the album’s central themes: identity, inner conflict, and the tension between who we are and who we allow ourselves to become. Though the band remains off screen, details throughout the piece, including wardrobe pulled from the broader KILL THE GHOST world, position the video as a side story that still connects naturally to the album’s larger creative universe.

On KILL THE GHOST, little image transformed a period of reflection and reinvention into their most expansive work yet. Across the album, the band explores self-sabotage, fear, emotional freedom, and the search for authenticity, turning chaos into clarity through a more guitar-driven and emotionally immersive sound.

Within that journey, “DEFCON” stands as one of the record’s most experimental moments, channeling the overwhelming sensation of panic and internal unrest into something hypnotic and cinematic. The visual then concludes with the album's interlude “DOES IT GLOW FOR A CHANGE,” extending the emotional arc of “DEFCON” into a final moment of reflection.

The visual arrives during a landmark chapter for little image following the release of KILL THE GHOST, which builds on the momentum of the band’s breakout #1 Alternative radio hit “OUT OF MY MIND,” headline touring success, and support runs with artists including Panic! At The Disco, Bad Suns, almost monday, and Joywave.

Known for maintaining a hands-on approach to every aspect of their creative world, from stage design to visual storytelling, little image continue to push their artistry beyond the music itself and invite fans deeper into the universe they’ve built.

About little image:
Over more than a decade, Dallas trio little image have evolved from suburban kids obsessed with underground indie rock into one of alternative music’s most compelling rising acts. Comprised of Jackson Simmons (vocals/guitar), Brandon Walters (bass/synth), and Troy Bruner (drums), the band found their creative identity by pushing beyond the traditional guitar-bass-drums setup and embracing a more expansive approach to songwriting and world-building.

That evolution led to a partnership with producer Chad Copelin (Sufjan Stevens, 5SOS) and the release of their debut album, SELF TITLED, in 2023. The album introduced little image’s emotionally immersive alt-pop sound and produced the band’s breakout #1 Alternative radio hit, “OUT OF MY MIND,” launching a new chapter that included headline touring and a rapidly growing fanbase.

After navigating a period of personal and creative recalibration, little image returned with their sophomore album, KILL THE GHOST, released in March 2026 via Hollywood Records. Produced primarily by Copelin, the album transforms themes of self-doubt, resilience, emotional freedom, and authenticity into the band’s boldest and most ambitious work to date, featuring songs including “KILL THE GHOST,” “REAL ESTATE,” “RUN FOR FOREVER,” “THE PRESSURE,” “NOVOCAINE,” and “DEFCON.”

Known for their hands-on approach to every aspect of their creative world, from stage design to visual storytelling, little image continue to build momentum both on stage and beyond. The band has toured with Panic! At The Disco, Bad Suns, almost monday, Joywave, and Colony House, and performed at festivals including Shakey Knees, Float Fest, and more. With KILL THE GHOST now out and a growing global audience behind them, little image continue to establish themselves as one of alternative music’s most exciting & creative new voices.
