Today Philadelphia-based four-piece rock band KulfiGirls are excited to release the deluxe edition of their debut album, Divinity (Deluxe Edition), on vinyl as a double LP on DCxPC Live (order).  The album arrives after the release of acclaimed singles "Twist (Melted)" and "Itch (Melted)." The new double LP edition pairs the full studio recordings with acoustic versions that nod to the songs’ earliest demo forms, offering both the fully realized album and a more intimate look at how the material began.

The band has announced East Coast tour dates in support of Divinity (Deluxe Edition), including a hometown Philadelphia show at Warehouse On Watts on June 5, followed by Baltimore on June 6 and Kingston, NY on June 7. Tickets are on sale now.

KulfiGirls has carved out a distinct place in the Philadelphia music scene through an underexplored fusion of rock and Carnatic instrumentation. A standout example is their pop-punk Carnatic-fusion single 'Bite,' which gained momentum last year alongside a horror-camp music video with a prominent Saraswati veena solo. The group recently opened for The Wonder Years at Philly Music Fest, was highlighted by NPR music on social media, and has received multiple features on WXPN including a live broadcast performance.

Fronted by lead vocalist and Saraswati veena player Abi Natesh, the band includes her partner Joan on guitar, Stephanie Bruning on bass, and Adesola Ogunleye on drums. Through KulfiGirls, Natesh channels her South Indian heritage into a musical style that resists easy categorization. The band’s sound moves fluidly between heavy, melodic, exploratory, and traditional elements, blending distorted contemporary rock music with soaring veena solos inspired by ancient musical forms. Divinity centers this cross-cultural synthesis, presenting a bold new approach to Carnatic-influenced rock.

The album explores themes of transformation, acceptance, and coming of age. One of the acoustic tracks is a demo of the unreleased song “Twist,” which explores the emotional fallout of an irreparable relationship. Natesh explains, “We experienced a personal loss recently which inspired this really angsty song. I’m really proud of it from a songwriting perspective. The full version will be on our next record, which is still in the works, but you can hear it live at our upcoming shows.”

The studio side of the vinyl also features new interludes from jungle and ambient breakbeat artist CosineVi. These interludes glue the record together and offer a new lens through which to experience the songs, creating a continuous, immersive, cinematic listening experience well suited to the vinyl format.

KulfiGirls began as a passion project. Natesh reflects, “It started as a bonding activity. When Joan and I were first getting to know each other, we would jam together, and eventually I started incorporating the veena which really shaped the direction of our music. The song ‘Itch’ began as an old iPhone recording from the third or fourth time we had ever hung out together. I also had FL Studio on my computer, so for fun one night we recorded what would end up being the first demo of ‘Araro.’” Both songs will appear on the acoustic side, with “Itch” released as another single ahead of the vinyl. The band describes the acoustic side as a nod to those early stripped-down demos, reimagined with more intentional and professional production, offering listeners a new way to experience the material.
