MAY, 2026 (TULSA, OK) – Tulsa-based songwriter Keyland has released his knock out new studio album Knuckle Sandwich – out now via One Riot. Knuckle Sandwich is Keyland’s sharpest and most fully realized work to date.
Recorded at the legendary Sonic Ranch, the remote, analog-leaning studio near the Texas–Mexico border, the album captures the messy, contradictory nature of love with equal parts humor and hard truth. Rooted in the storytelling tradition of Oklahoma and the broader Americana lineage it feeds, the record moves between swagger and self-awareness, landing somewhere between a smirk and a gut punch.
Alongside the album’s release, Keyland has also dropped a stunning new music video for focus track “Cannonball.”

“Lots of my favorite writers exist somewhere between silly and serious – guys like Randy Newman – and that is the place where I really want my writing to be,” Keyland says of the new album. “I hope people pick up on the tongue-&-cheek nature of the songs, and remember, I’m never more serious than when I’m joking.”
Across Knuckle Sandwich, Keyland builds a cast of characters who feel heightened but deeply familiar. From the chill rockability of “Stick,” to the restless chaos of “Pinball Machine Rodeo Queen,” the emotional clarity of “Foolish Thing To Do” and the offbeat, color-drenched lens of “Crayon,” his writing remains simple but not simplistic, sketching vivid scenes before landing an emotional weight that lingers. At its core is a guiding philosophy: love often looks more like a punch to the face than a kiss on the cheek. The aforementioned pre-release tracks “Stick,” “Pinball Machine Rodeo Queen,” “Foolish Thing To Do” and “Crayon,” are all major album highlights and capture the kind of character that defines Keyland’s writing.
With Knuckle Sandwich, Keyland delivers a record that feels both rooted and restless, steeped in Americana tradition but unafraid to undercut it with humor, looseness, and unpredictability.
After independently releasing two full-length albums in 2023, Ross partnered with boutique label One Riot, who introduced his next chapter through the 2025 EPs Too Tuff and Stand Up To You. He returned to Sonic Ranch to record Knuckle Sandwich alongside a close-knit group of Tulsa collaborators, leaning into live tracking, analog textures, and feel over polish.
Produced and mixed by Sam Westhoff, Knuckle Sandwich features Ramsey Thornton, Hugh Westhoff, Cash Jackson, Jacob Hunter, and Isaac Stalling with mastering by Joe Causey at Voyager Mastering.
