#Soldout: Spending Valentines day with The Runarounds

Spending Valentines day with The Runarounds

It doesn’t matter your love status; you can help but find love for the Runarounds. From their fans to their performance, Valentines day will never. The night was going to be one for the books as the legendary Royal Oak Theatre announced that the night was going to be sold out. Fans arrived as early as six in the morning to get their chance for a prime spot to see these guys in person. Some fans have traveled from across the US and Canada to spend their night under the Valentine air.

With the flickering of the lights, the Runaround sign was revealed, and the band walked out to the most Michigan rock song possible: "Detroit Rock City" by Kiss. Keeping love alive, they kicked of show with Ghost, Cellophane, and Sophia. For how packed the night was, there was always room for dancing and belting out every word all the way to the end.

More About the Runarounds

Fresh off the kickoff of their massive second headline tour, The Runarounds have released “Arrhythmia (I Hope You Stay)” (via AWAL), a blistering new version of one of their hit songs.  The new studio recording captures the band exactly as fans experience them night after night on the road: louder guitars, sold-out, sweat-soaked rooms packed with fans singing every word, killer vocals, and full-throttle energy that’s become their calling card.

The track, which originally appeared in the band’s hit Amazon Prime series, The Runarounds, arrived the same night the band took the stage at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles. On the new song Will Lipton (guitar/vocals) said:

"If you are a human living on planet earth, you’ve probably been told in a situation or two to follow your heart. Easier said than done. It is in our nature to be distrustful of ourselves. “Arrhythmia” (a medical term used to describe an irregular heartbeat) is a tune about reaching out to someone close to help you find that trust in yourself again. The band wrote this tune with Matthew Koma back in early 2024 while completing the soundtrack for “The Runarounds” series and we recorded the studio version before we even started filming. Special thanks to Matthew Koma for helping us on this one!”

Recorded to more closely resemble The Runarounds’ live performances, “Arrhythmia (I Hope You Stay)” spotlights the band’s driving guitars, dynamic rhythms, and the emotional intensity that defines their onstage shows. It follows the recent release of “Chasing The Good Times,” a nostalgic, anthemic indie-rock track that showcases the spirit of living in the moment. The song was co-written & produced by Brad Shultz (founding member and guitarist for Cage The Elephant) and mixed by Rich Costey (Foo Fighters, Sigur Ros, Muse, HAIM) and is just a preview of more original music to come later this year. Check out the music video shot live during last year’s tour!

The band are celebrating the release of both songs with the announcement of 17 newly added headline tour dates for 2026, expanding their already stacked run across the U.S. and Canada. Tickets for the newly announced dates will go on sale on Friday, January 30th at 10am with various pre-sales beginning Wednesday, January 28th. The new dates arrive as The Runarounds kick off the 2026 leg of The Minivan Tour which follows a completely sold-out fall headline run that saw fans lining up as early as 9 a.m. for day-of tickets. With over 40,000 tickets sold, multiple venue upgrades, and second shows added in key markets, including two nights at New York’s Irving Plaza on February 18th and 19th and a two-night run at Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl on February 28th and March 1st, the band has quickly become one of the most electric live draws in indie rock. Adding to their momentum, The Runarounds have also announced debut festival appearances at Bonnaroo (Manchester, TN), High Water Festival (Charleston, SC), and Sips & Sounds Festival (Austin, TX). See full tour dates below!

Live response to The Runarounds has been just as electric, with early reviews and audience reactions underscoring the band’s rapid rise. Melodic Magazine noting the rabid fanbase they’ve already established as they are “skyrocketing into millions of fans.Off The Record Press adds that The Runarounds “have hit their stride and are ready to sprint toward stardom,” a sentiment echoed in live reviews, with The Daily Mississippian describing shows as “high-spirited and vibrant,” where “not only was the band a powerhouse, but the audience was, too.” That connection continues to resonate with fans, as Post & Courier Free Times highlights the band’s “youthful authenticity that speaks to their fans,” with no signs of slowing down!

The band’s first EP The Runarounds Live at USC was produced by Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads. Inspired by Back Seat Lovers (whose song “Kilby Girl” they cover frequently!), The Beatles, Rolling Stones and more, the band wrote or co-wrote all of their music featured in the show that served as their first album The Runarounds (Original Soundtrack). The album features singles “Senior Year” and “Funny How The Universe Works” as well as fan favorite “Ghosts.” Not to mention it features covers of the Zuton’s “Valerie” (notably performed by Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson and Cheap Trick’s “Surrender.” Check out the full The Runarounds (Original Soundtrack) HERE.

What began as a weekly beach-bar residency in Wilmington, North Carolina has evolved into a coast-to-coast phenomenon, with the band cutting their teeth on college campuses, festival stages, and  more. Their rise has been fueled by an undeniable truth: The Runarounds are a band you have to see live.

The Runarounds are: William Lipton (guitar/vocals), Axel Ellis (guitar, vocals), Jesse Golliher (bass/vocals) Zende Murdock (drums) and Jeremy Yun (guitar/vocals) have taken their talents to the road on two sold-out headline tours since the show's premiere September 1st. And they have no signs of slowing down. The band is a group of musicians who learned how to act with the goal of writing real songs that change the world - a few of them grew up performing together since they were as little as six years old!
