Speaking on the makeup of ‘Boa’, Ronny Bong shares; ‘‘Boa’ is a hauntingly tender reflection draped in the shimmering light of dreamy, jangle-pop. A sonic mask used to veil the lyrical tempest woven through the track.”

The single arrives off the back of Ronny Bong’s first headline show at Manchester’s Rat & Pigeon, which sold out. The evening marked both a celebration of Boa and an opportunity for his growing audience to hear new material performed live for the first time.

While ‘Boa’ is his first official release, it signals the beginning of a wider project set to unfold later this year. Though still at the start of his journey, Ronny Bong emerges with confidence and a defined sonic direction.

More on Ronny Bong…

Ronny Bong is an independent singer-songwriter from Manchester, blending the confessional intimacy of indie-folk with the fresh edge of alternative pop. Influenced by artists such as Adrianne Lenker, Beabadoobee and The Sundays, Ronny creates songs that combine vivid storytelling with delicate guitar work and a strong emotional core.

His artistic identity is marked by earthy visuals, natural imagery, and an indie-folk aesthetic which reflects a deep connection to themes of nature, growth and introspection. Ronny often draws inspiration from the growing pains of adolescence and the quiet aftermath of change, delving into seasons of self-discovery and the lingering bruises of a busy mind.

In his late teens, Ronny began crafting original songs and performing at grassroots venues across Manchester, supporting Nxdia at a sold-out Feel Good Club, and supporting Brooke Ellen at Band on the Wall - The Copper Bar. Beyond the stage, Ronny dedicates his time to engaging with and performing for live viewers on TikTok, cultivating a fanbase and sharing his art.

Ronny and his band headed down to London to record his debut EP in November 2025, a project that captured the warmth and vulnerability of his live sets while expanding his musical palette.

After a successful first headline at Manchester’s coveted Rat & Pigeon, Ronny and his band are gearing up to play Off The Square at the beginning of March. Ronny Bong continues to shape his artistry, whilst exuding an endearing persona and heartfelt performances that forge genuine connections and invite listeners into an intimate world.
