French producer and global dance figure Kungs returns with ‘Nasty’, a hypnotic new collaboration with Compton-born artist Channel Tres, out 14th November 2025 via Astralwerks.

A commanding blend of club energy and late-night attitude, ‘Nasty’ marks a clear evolution in Kungs’ sound: a deeper, darker pivot towards the underground. The track trades sun-soaked hooks for warped basslines, synth-led melodies and Channel Tres’ unmistakable vocals.

“On Nasty, which I made in Los Angeles with Channel Tres, I aimed for a sleek, club-ready track driven by an Italo bassline and a devilishly catchy riff; something sexy, stylish, and made to move - and with the album [Out Loud], I wanted to break free from radio conventions and explore a blend of disco and rock influences with total freedom.”

“"When I wrote Nasty it made me think of what we say in Compton when I’m with the homies, when someone does something spectacular, we call it nasty. Or when a musician is playing and it’s funky we call it nasty, or when somebody in basketball gets dunked on, we’ll say that was nasty, it’s really about popping your shit (letting some one know your great).”

Channel Tres is widely regarded as one of the most distinctive voices in electronic music today. Fusing house, funk, rap, and hip-hop with a distinctly West Coast sensibility, he’s known for cult singles like ‘Controller’ and ‘Topdown’, and collaborations with the likes of Jungle, Robyn, SG Lewis and Polo & Pan. Classically trained yet rooted in Compton’s musical pulse, Channel Tres continues to blur the lines between the club and the streets, crafting a sound equally suited to the underground and the main stage.

For Kungs, “Nasty” signals a bold new chapter. Having first broken through with the global hit “This Girl”, a track that topped charts in over 45 countries, and a multi-platinum debut album Layers, Kungs has spent the past year reconnecting with his early influences in the club scene. His new output dives headfirst into that world: raw, physical, and built for dark rooms and low ceilings.

Kungs, aka Valentin Brunel, first rose to global fame with his debut album Layers in 2016, which featured the worldwide smash hit ‘This Girl’, a track which has since amassed over 1 billion streams on Spotify alone. In 2021, Kungs set the tone for a new era with ‘Never Going Home’. Celebrated as the anthem of the post-lockdown summer, the track dominated international charts and picked up multiple awards, including Diamond certification in France, Double Platinum in Italy, and Platinum in Poland.

Driven by an unstoppable energy, and a deep love for club culture, Kungs unveiled his second album Club Azur, a vibrant mix of funk, house, and Italo-disco. Both in its structure and its sound, the album is a love letter to clubbing, a return to the very essence of a culture that had been put on hold in recent years. Club Azur is certified gold in France and double platinum oversees. The album includes major hits ‘Clap Your Hands’ and ‘Lipstick’. Across his catalogue, Kungs has now surpassed an incredible 14 billion streams worldwide. His career has taken him to the biggest stages in electronic music, including Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland and Coachella and has seen him collaborate with artists from Lenny Kravitz and Dua Lipa to Carlita and Purple Disco Machine.

Now Kungs is set to make his grand return with OUT LOUD, a new album due out 13th March, promising exciting collaborations and exploring a sonic palette at the crossroads of disco, rock, and French Touch. Mixed and mastered alongside German producer Boys Noize, this third album marks a new stage in the trajectory of a constantly evolving artist.

The single lands on the day of Kungs’ Berlin headline show at Ritter Butzke. Fans can expect an extended set that showcases both his new material and the infectious energy that has made him a global name.
