Ahead of International Women’s Day, Arlo Parks steps behind the decks for an exclusive DJ mix on Apple Music Club Radio, curated for NAINA’s long-running NAINA Presents series. Airing at 7:00 PM GMT on Friday, March 6, and available globally as an on-demand mix, the release marks the 50th volume of the show.
Recorded at Apple Music’s London studios, the mix sees Arlo expand her role as a selector, tracing the musical through-lines that inform her wider creative world. Spanning house, African and Afro-diasporic sounds, trip-hop, hip-hop, and richly percussive club music, the set moves fluidly between classic influences and contemporary discoveries, from Louie Vega and DJ Shadow to Floating Points, Joy Orbison, and Djrum.
Long known for her deeply considered approach to curation, from radio shows and playlists to live DJ appearances, Arlo treats the mix as an extension of her songwriting practice, guided by flow, emotional resonance, and rhythm. “It all comes from a love of music and me just being a fan before anything,” she says. “Learning how to flow songs into one another really helped my process, and DJing became something I loved doing for myself.”

The mix also nods to the research and listening that shaped Arlo’s forthcoming third record, Ambiguous Desire, drawing inspiration from New York club culture, African music rooted in drums, and UK trip-hop, while remaining grounded in the intimacy and freedom of the radio format.
