ON SALE THIS FRIDAY, JANUARY 9 HERE

West Texas singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Solya has announced she will release her debut album Queen of Texas on March 6, 2026 via VERSION III. The 10-track collection is available to pre-order and pre-save beginning today HERE. To herald the announcement, Solya has unveiled the album’s lead single, “Tell Me It’s Over,” a slow-burning, guitar-led track drawn from the anger and clarity that come with leaving a toxic relationship.

Listen to “Tell Me It’s Over” HERE and watch HERE.

Queen of Texas was written and recorded entirely in the Lone Star State and came to life in Lockhart, TX, with producer Danny Reisch (Khruangbin, Local Natives) and a circle of Texas-based collaborators. Solya wrote every track and performed rhythm guitar, synthesizers, and piano, while Reisch added percussion and Jason Chronis (Tele Novella, Voxtrot) brought bass and lead guitar. Together, they built a world that expands the bedroom-born intimacy of Solya’s early singles into something rich, atmospheric, and unmistakably Texan. The LP drifts between warm Americana and dreamy indie rock, shaped by lush arrangements that blend retro pop harmonies with twangy textures. Its tender ballads weave psychedelic storytelling with Solya’s personal reflections on heartbreak, identity, and the challenges of growing up queer in a conservative small town.

As her sound spreads beyond West Texas, Solya remains inspired by the music she grew up with and the Southwestern landscape she considers home. “I think a lot of artists feel the need to move to New York or LA to be successful,” Solya shares. “I don’t feel that I need to move to a big city because I draw inspiration from where I grew up. I just want to be the Queen of Texas.”

Solya previewed Queen of Texas with the release of tracks “Silver Swan,” “Movie Star,” “19,” and “Born Wicked” over the course of 2025. The album follows Solya’s independently released 2023 EP Fever Dream and 2024 EP Jewel Box, and builds upon the success of early singles such as “Tear Me Apart” and “We Say Goodbye,” which helped her cultivate a devoted and growing fanbase.

Solya will celebrate the release of the album with her headline Queen of Texas Tour. The tour will begin with a series of Texas dates this February, and visit 24 major markets across the U.S. and Canada from May through July. Lockhart, TX duo Tele Novella will provide support on all dates. Tickets for the tour’s Texas leg are on sale now, and tickets for the North American leg go on sale this Friday, January 9 at 10:00am ET. A complete list of upcoming live dates and ticket information can be found HERE.

The Queen of Texas Tour marks Solya’s first run supported by a backing band. Her previous solo touring includes a largely sold-out 21-city co-headline North American tour with Baby Bugs, four sold-out U.K. headline dates, and a sold-out headline show at Los Angeles’s historic Troubadour.
