September 19, 2025 — (Hollywood, CA) — After weeks of teasing and a triumphant return to the stage after two years away, global superstar Lewis Capaldi shows no sign of slowing down as he shares his new single "Something In The Heavens." The soul-stirring anthem is accompanied by a breathtaking performance video filmed live from Abbey Road. Listen HERE and watch the video HERE.
Written with songwriters Connor & Riley McDonough, “Something In The Heavens” details loss in all its forms — but also the glimmers of hope that remain — and is yet another example of Capaldi’s extraordinary gift for cutting straight to the heart. “I’ll love you til my last breath, you’re gone but something in the heavens tells me that we’ll be together again,” he sings as he effortlessly unearths every listener’s deepest emotions, holding you there in the moment, and not letting go.
A teaser of the track dropped just ahead of Capaldi’s current sold-out 17-date UK arena tour which sent fans into overdrive. Since debuting the song live, it’s been met with rapturous crowds across the UK already singing back the lyrics and serves as a powerful reminder of the connection he shares with his fans. The response to the tour has been electric, with critics unanimous in their praise, delivering four and five star reviews across the board from Rolling Stone, The Guardian and more. The run continues this week with the last of his three sold-out shows at London’s The O2 - which will stream on TikTok LIVE.
Earlier this week Capaldi announced his biggest UK and Ireland headline shows to date. Kicking off next summer at Dublin’s Marlay Park on June 24th, 2026, Capaldi will take on eight outdoor headline shows including London’s 65,000 capacity American Express presents BST Hyde Park on Saturday, July 11th. In late June, after two years away from the spotlight, Capaldi broke the silence and made a courageous return with his new single “Survive” – a bold, brave anthem that addresses a challenging period in his career that culminated at Glastonbury 2023 when, in an extremely difficult but unifying moment, the Pyramid Stage crowd helped carry an emotional Capaldi over the finish line. The Scottish singer and songwriter recently came full circle, making a triumphant return to Glastonbury, with a surprise set. Said Rolling Stone, “‘Survive’ is a ‘Song You Need To Know’ an empowering, emotional ballad…Lewis Capaldi is back and his return made for one of the most emotional Glastonbury moments of the weekend.” Billboard deemed Capaldi’s return, “one of the best moments from Glastonbury…a momentous occasion and the weekend’s most emotional moment,” watch Lewis perform “Survive” live at Glastonbury, here.
“Survive” is already a massive hit, becoming not only Capaldi’s sixth No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart, but also the country’s fastest selling single of the year thus far. Capaldi now joins esteemed company with the likes of Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Drake, Lady Gaga and Queen to achieve six UK No 1. singles. He’s since brought the song to Good Morning America as part of their “Summer Concert Series” and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he also sat down for a moving conversation. Ahead of his Glastonbury performance, Capaldi played a series of May shows in Scotland as a guest of mental health charity CALM, in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Week. With no pressure, and no level of expectation, the shows allowed Capaldi the space to gauge his comfort and emotional response before returning to the limelight.
After weathering the kind of storm that few can prepare for, Lewis Capaldi’s return has brought a renewed sense of purpose, proving that even in the darkest moments, there’s still strength in showing up. As he continues to mark a new era, has returned even stronger, heart wide open, and ready to step out again.
