Lewis Capaldi Makes Triumphant Return To Glastonbury Festival With Surprise Set

2X GRAMMY® NOMINEE LEWIS CAPALDI MAKES TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL WITH SURPRISE SET

CAPALDI WILL PERFORM ON “GOOD MORNING AMERICA” ON JULY 7 AND

“THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON” ON JULY 14

June 27, 2025 — (Hollywood, CA) — After two years away from the spotlight, Lewis Capaldi came full circle earlier today, playing a short, unannounced set at Glastonbury Festival in the UK. The global superstar debuted his new single “Survive” – a bold, brave anthem that addresses a challenging period in his career that culminated at Glastonbury 2023 when, in an extremely difficult but unifying moment, the Pyramid Stage crowd helped carry an emotional Capaldi over the finish line. Today’s performance made it clear that Capaldi is not just surviving, he’s come back even stronger, with his heart wide open. Watch a clip of Capaldi perform “Survive” live at Glastonbury HERE and view more clips from the surprise performance HERE.  View the official “Survive” video which premiered today HERE.

Released today by Capitol Records, the beautiful, brutally honest “Survive” explores the mental health challenges of self-doubt and despair – and comes out swinging. The single has already amassed over 1 million global streams in less than 12 hours and has been added to nearly 40 New Music Friday playlists globally on Spotify, gracing the cover in multiple territories.

On “Survive,” Capaldi reunited with RØMANS who also co-wrote on his 2019 GRAMMY®-nominated, RIAA Diamond certified, Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping hit “Someone You Loved.” Listen to “Survive” HERE and watch the official video, directed by Hector Dockrill (Sam Fender, Post Malone), HERE.

Next, Capaldi heads to the U.S. for a string of performances and interviews. He’ll take the stage on ABC News’ “Good Morning America” Summer Concert Series on Monday, July 7, followed by an appearance on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday, July 14.

Ahead of his Glastonbury performance, Capaldi played a series of May shows in Scotland as a guest of mental health charity CALM, in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Week. With no pressure, and no level of expectation, the shows allowed Capaldi the space to gauge his comfort and emotional response before returning to the limelight.

Capaldi’s debut album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, was the biggest selling UK album of 2019 and 2020, propelling him from bedroom musician to superstar. In addition to a GRAMMY® nomination for “Song of the Year”, the single “Someone You Loved” won the BRIT Award for “Song of the Year” alongside Capaldi’s “Best New Artist” trophy. The song stands as the UK’s most streamed song of all time and the fourth highest ever streamed song in the world.

With Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, he scored his second UK number 1 album and three UK No. 1 singles, "Pointless," "Wish You The Best" and "Forget Me."  The 2023 album earned praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, The Guardian, NME, GQ, Stereogum and TIME, with the later noting that “Capaldi’s talent is tugging at heartstrings – or rather, pulling at them with all his vocal might.” The New York Times observed, “Capaldi has a scorched cannon of a voice, and it’s best deployed on songs about anguish. To date, his career has lurched forward one vocal bloodletting at a time.” Taking its name from the album’s closing song, the compelling music documentary Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now, in partnership with Netflix, BMG, & Pulse Films, shot straight to the top of the Netflix chart upon its release and was nominated for a GRAMMY® Award for Best Music Film.
