Get ready for a New Tokyo takeover – DEATHPIXIE has arrived to slay. The first major virtual artist in the electronic music landscape has released her new original single for deadmau5’ label “Die & Live Again” featuring Meryll today, September 19. Along with the track, it has been announced DEATHPIXIE will make her live debut November 7 and 8 as part of deadmau5’ upcoming Day of the deadmau5 shows at Colorado’s legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
“Die & Live Again” features Dutch artist Meryll (who has collaborated with the likes of FISHER, Hardwell and Afrojack) and will appear on DEATHPIXIE’s mau5trap debut EP ASYLUM set for release October 31. It reflects exactly what DEATHPIXIE is–diabolical in its DNA with beats as menacing as they come and a chilling vocal you can’t get out of your head. The listener will even be taken by a hawk’s screech for added effect. Alongside “Die & Live Again” and her previous cover release “RAISE YOUR WEAPON” Requiem (her take on deadmau5’ 2010 classic “Raise Your Weapon”), the music featured on ASYLUM will continue to wield the attention and curiosity of fans of emerging dance music and anime.
Expect at Red Rocks mind bending large scale visuals that fuse the physical and virtual performance of DEATHPIXIE prowess in ways never seen before. deadmau5 brings DEATHPIXIE along for the ride, rounding out a space for her in his conceptualized five-hour set that also features testpilot, new deadmau5 music and a mau5 drum & bass set to close the show. As an exciting new project for his label mau5trap, DEATHPIXIE is stepping into the live space to unveil a first-of-its-kind dark electronic visual odyssey where organic and virtual worlds collide.

About DEATHPIXIE:
DEATHPIXIE is an artist born in the shadows of New Tokyo. Her sound is what plays when a blood-red RX-7 drifts through a neon wasteland of dark electronic music: Created by an emerging group of songwriters, producers and animators there is a human behind every element of DEATHPIXIE. Her music weaves phonk, trap, techno, bass house, and dubstep fused into a cinematic, high-speed descent like a transmission from a broken future: raw, surreal, and charged with underground energy.
Since emerging in spring 2024, DEATHPIXIE is quickly becoming one of electronic music’s most intriguing digital figures. Her debut single “HELL GIRL” has had over 2.35 million Spotify streams and her cuts have been featured on the platform’s playlists Phonk (10M Followers), All New Dance, Hype, and Trap Mojito, collectively hitting over 350,000 monthly listeners. She hit #1 on Apple’s Drum & Bass with “HELL GIRL II” with OddKidOut and has received 10M+ views across Reels, TikTok, and Shorts. DEATHPIXIE has covered and posted on SoundCloud songs by The White Stripes with her "7NATIONARMY,” The Prodigy with "SMACKMYBITCHUP" and deadmau5 with “RAISE YOUR WEAPON.” The latter caught the attention of mau5trap and label boss deadmau5 quickly signed her with her EP ASYLUM to arrive in October. Be prepared for the debut of DEATHPIXIE live at Red Rocks this November.

About mau5trap:
Over a decade since its formation, mau5trap -- the independent record label founded by groundbreaking electronic music producer deadmau5 -- has become a bastion for trailblazing and genre-defying artists. Casting a palpable influence over the genre, Mixmag readers voted mau5trap among the “Top 50 Labels of the Decade”, placing it in the Top 10; since then, the imprint has been supported by dance music magnates Billboard, DJ Mag, Forbes, Insomniac, and The EDM Network. More recently, mau5trap has maneuvered toward live events boasting curated stage takeovers at the world’s biggest electronic dance music events like Ultra Music Festival, Creamfields, EDC, Electric Forrest, and beyond.
The multi-genre platform has extensively served as an authoritative platform for dance music heavyweights such as label head deadmau5, Kx5, Skrillex, REZZ, Feed Me, Zedd, Noisia, i_o, Dillon Francis, Chris Lake, and Madeon; a combination of dark, forceful techno and complex, electro sounds, the label acts as a hotbed for rising talent such as Sarah Landry, Lamorn, 1788-L, LUPA, and others alike.
