With heavenly vocals and songwriting straight from the heart, Hunter Daily transforms the messy, gut-wrenching pain of heartbreak into a devastatingly beautiful six track offering. The EP captures the complexity of mediating the head, ego and heart as a relationship passes the point of no return. Hunter explained “Each track explores a different shade of heartbreak, from denial and excuses to pleading for change and, finally, acceptance. It’s the sound of fighting goodbye, and the scars it leaves behind. The EP doesn’t just scratch the surface - it cuts deep.”

Brand new with the EP today is the focus single “Video Games” complete with a deliciously playful, official video, check it out HERE. Dangerously catchy, it’s another example of Hunter's knack for penning relatable realities within sticky melodic hooks. Sharing more she said; “Video Games is my breakup-with-the-gamer-boy anthem for anyone who’s ever had to beg to be chosen over Fortnite. I wrote it when I was tired of being second place to a controller and a headset, so I turned all that frustration into a song full of game metaphors. PSA to the girls: if the only thing he’s turning on is his monitor, it’s GAME OVER.’
The other new offering on the EP is “Wedding Season” - a blissful showcase of Hunter's exquisite vocals and honest lyricism, capturing how easy it can be to bury your head in the sand to delay the inescapable. Sharing more, she explained: “I would let literally any excuse be the reason I stayed in a relationship. Their birthday, a holiday, a wedding — I always found a way to put off doing the hard thing. You can always find an excuse to stay, because it feels easier than facing the truth, but in the end, postponing only drags out the pain. I hope this song reminds people that they’re not alone if they’ve ever delayed the inevitable — and maybe gives them the courage to finally face it, speak the truth, and choose what’s right for themselves.”
The EP’s title track already established itself as a stand out moment. “Claw Marks” arrived last month accompanied by the official music video. tmrw magazine has described it as “a beautiful response to the devastating pain of heartache.” Whilst Noctis Magazine commented that Hunter is “paving her way for the intricately vulnerable lyricism that will touch souls around the world.”
Each carefully constructed track on the record explores a different element of heartbreak. “Dead End” is a glistening, reflective track about slipping back into cycles, even when you know you shouldn’t. “Hope For The Best” sits in the denial stage of clinging to comfort. Whilst “Cowboy’s Gonna Ride” is the moment of acceptance — realizing you can’t change someone who doesn’t want to change. With its shimmering pop sensibilities alongside organic folk-inspired instrumentation, Claw Marks EP lives in the sonic world of Gracie Abrams and Taylor Swift’s ‘Fearless’ era.
Born and based in Los Angeles, Hunter Daily has been making waves as a promising newcomer to watch. With her effortlessly sweet, soulful vocals and knack for writing relatable and accomplished ear worms, she’s generated much acclaim already including support from Galore Magazine, Wonderland and Atwood Magazine who described her sound as being “the perfect company for all your dreamy, ruminative Sunday walks.” We couldn't agree more.
Hunter released her debut EP ‘Die In LA’ back in 2023, proving her to be an unflinchingly honest new voice. This project reflects on the pressures and vulnerabilities of growing up as a young woman in Los Angeles, something that resonated with a blossoming and loyal fanbase. Hunter has already been tipped by Spotify on the cover of their Next Gen Singer-songwriter playlist, played on iHeart Radio while being featured on the cover of their Freshly Chilled playlist and has generated over six million catalog streams.
Sitting somewhere between Lizzy McAlpine, Holly Humberstone and Gracie Abrams, Hunter has been mastering her songwriting since she was in High School. With her sophomore EP being a significant moment in her rise, keep all eyes on her.
