NEW YORK (May 2, 2025) – Following the success of his epic double concept album “SOPHOMORIC RAMBLING” last year, NYC-based singer, songwriter, producer, and performer D.K. Lyons today officially begins an exciting new musical era with the release of his highly anticipated new single “loveseeking,” available now on digital streaming platforms.
Known for his infectious pop-driven bops reminiscent of Tom Petty and Third Eye Blind, Lyons delivers another irresistible anthem with “loveseeking,” this time diving deep into the desire for fulfillment. As the song’s title suggests, the multi-faceted artist takes listeners along for the ride as he searches for satisfaction and a way back to love in all areas of his life.
“I felt a void in my life, both from a series of unserious romantic encounters but also a series of surface level interactions and life events, and I realized I wanted to be in love again, both romantically and with my life in general, so this song is my expression of that,” Lyons shares.
“loveseeking” finds the indie musician exploring a more expansive, rock-infused sound thanks in large part to the support of Bruce Lowe, who is recognized for his work with musical legends such as Stevie Wonder and Elton John, and is sure to provide a promising glimmer of hope and comfort for anyone who, like Lyons, has been seeking love in any form.
As the first single to be released from Lyons’s forthcoming third career EP “Darling Kiss Louder,” “loveseeking” holds the key to the project’s overall concept, which follows the protagonist as he navigates a breakup and begins a journey of questioning true love, pondering its existence as a product sold to us or if it’s really the fairytale that was presented to us as children.
With each project he has released, Lyons has fused music and visual storytelling to create a multi-sensory experience for his fans, and “Darling Kiss Louder” will be no different. The EP’s visual concept was inspired by Dante’s “Divine Comedy,” the seven deadly sins, the Dark Ages, and the renaissance that followed, tapping into modern-day consumerism, the world of social media, and influencer culture. The songs will be accompanied by music videos that honor those of the music queens that dominated 2024, along with SNL-style ad spots for fake love-related products that reinforce these notions, acknowledging the current state of our society while hinting that another renaissance awaits us.
“loveseeking” represents the deadly sin of greed, while the official music video, set for release on May 22, will be a fun parody of Chappell Roan’s “Red Wine Supernova.”
Lyons will present his second annual Gemini Ball on June 18 at The Bowery Electric in NYC, a celebration of music and, of course, the Geminis in his band.
A true feminist and fierce defender of women’s rights, D.K. Lyons approaches music with his heart on his sleeve and keeps connection at the heart of his work, all while tackling relatable topics such as love, hope, loss, and fear. He has built his career on one simple mantra: “laugh + dance + cry + repeat.”
