Pinning himself as a reliable source for catchy, energetic bites of EDM-fuelled alt-pop, ‘willyouwaitforme’ arrives as no exception.

Following on from the release of his EP ‘asp’ back in March, ‘willyouwaitforme’ is about meeting the right person, at the wrong time. Sharing more, Altara explained: ‘it’s always kinda fun when, after a breakup, you become ready to start seeing new people. I met someone I liked pretty quickly though, too quickly, and suddenly I felt like I was jumping from one thing to another, questioning if I was actually feeling something, or if I was just trying to fill the gaps. Wywfm is about that, because when you’re trying to figure all that out, you can lose someone, and miss out on something that could actually be really good.’

Altara has been keeping busy since he launched last summer. He wrapped up his second EP ‘asp’ with a dynamic rework of ‘istillgetthefeelingyoumissme’. Released earlier this month, ‘yourfeelings’ saw him team up with London-based dark-pop artist REYA to completely reinvent the original solo track. Check it out [HERE].

With momentum building throughout 2024, January saw him level up with the release of ‘pleasedontleave’ — a track that shifted his sound in a bold new direction. Clash Magazine described it as “merging future-pop with widescreen EDM production aspects,” while Nialler9 called Altara “the closest we’ve come to an Irish newcomer sounding like brat-era Charli XCX.”

Altara shared his impressive debut single ‘Somebody To Lose’ in August and was quick to win over listeners with his playful and punchy first move. The release garnered much attention from the likes of Noctis, Hot Press, Ones to Watch and Kaltblut magazine who said that Altara ‘emerges as a refreshing anomaly, a maestro of mood and master of melody’. adding that ‘Altara is not just someone to lose sleep over—he’s an artist to keep on constant replay.’ In addition WHYTT magazine said that Altara’s ‘Retro rhythm beats will make you fall in love with his sound’

Over the past few years, Altara has been steadily evolving his sound and refining his production skills — growth that continues to unfold in real time. Proudly dynamic and unafraid to push boundaries, Altara is without a doubt an artist to watch in 2025
