Altara Shares New Video for pleasedontleave
Today, Irish artist and producer Altara returns with his new video for âpleasedontleaveâ.
Taken from his second EP âaspâ, which is out now, the video arrives as an energetic look into Altaraâs world. Filmed DIY style with friend and fellow artist Nova May, the footage captures Altara in his element; authentic, full of energy and with a dose of playfulness.
Sharing more, he explained: âIt was quite spontaneous but we were feeling really inspired after bouncing ideas over dinner, so we just went for it. It was quite spur of the moment, which feels really apt for this whole project as itâs all come about really naturally and intuitively. Iâm glad that the music & the visuals are authentic, it means that my music and the project's energy can speak for itself.â
The video is here just a couple of weeks after listeners were treated to his three track EP âaspâ.
The record arrived with one brand new tune; âistillgetthefeelingyoumissmeâ, completing a trio of EDM inspired bops full of catchy pop-hooks and weightless production.

The EP drop marked the arrival of the final single; âistillgetthefeelingyoumissmeâ which brought with it a reminder to live in the moment and to not take anything too seriously, a sentiment which is echoed across the whole EP. See below for the EPâs tracklist;

âknewyourightâ is another standout moment on the EP. A vivid electro-pop tune ready to be danced to. Sharing more behind the track, Altara explained: âI had built up this ideal version of someone in my head, and they were just never gonna be that, nobody could. It sounds like a dig, but itâs more a song of acceptance, that I was wrong. I think that itâs okay to be wrong about people, from both perspectives
Iâve always envisaged dancing on a table for this song! The way the drums interact with the bass is something Iâm particularly proud of, itâs so addictive.â
Despite only launching at the end of last summer, Altara has already made a significant mark as an artist to watch. January marked the audio release of âpleasedontleaveâ, moving his sound in a brand new direction and kicking off 2025 fully charged. Clash magazine described the sound as âMerging future-pop with widescreen EDM production aspectsâ whilst Nialler9 described Altara as
âthe closest weâve come to an Irish newcomer sounding like brat-era Charli XCX â.
Back in August, Altara shared his impressive debut single âSomebody To Loseâ, and was quick to win over listeners with his playful and punchy first move. The release garnered much attention from the likes of Noctis, Hot Press, Ones to Watch and Kaltblut magazine who said that Altara âemerges as a refreshing anomaly, a maestro of mood and master of melodyâ. adding that âAltara is not just someone to lose sleep overâheâs an artist to keep on constant replay.â In addition WHYTT magazine said that Altaraâs âRetro rhythm beats will make you fall in love with his soundâ
Altara's three track debut EP âThe Lobbyâ followed in November and dabbled in sunkissed alt-pop with âItâs Hitting You Isnât Itâ. The track scooped support from tastemakers whilst also making its mark over at Apple Music on playlists such as New In Pop and New Music Daily. The EP closed with raw and intimate single âMilanâ which showcased yet another string to Altaraâs bow and completed the EP as a flawless and diverse introduction to the new talent.
Altara has spent the last few years evolving his sound and finessing his production skills which continue to evolve in real time. Proudly dynamic and never afraid to push boundaries, Altara is definitely an artist to watch this year.
Keep all eyes on Altara;
