Out Today: The Glowworms - 'W.O.D'

THE GLOWWORMS
INTRODUCE THEIR EXPANSIVE SOUND ON DEBUT EP
“W.O.D”
(October 23, 2025) - Emerging indie-rock five-piece The Glowworms take a confident first step with their debut EP, ‘W.O.D’ - Worm or Die. Blending influences from across continents and genres, the band crafts a sound that's both hazy and richly textured. Saturated instrumentals are tied together by the swell of strings and the distinctive shimmer of steel guitar. The EP is introduced by two standout singles, ‘hand’ and ‘cally park’, offering a glimpse into the band’s growing sonic identity.
‘W.O.D’ is available now on your streaming service of choice via APOLLO Distribution.

The EP burns with “wall of sound” moments on ‘Cally Park’ and ‘Trenchcoat’ and flickers on more intimate cuts like ‘Hand’ and ‘You Do Not Matter.’ Evocative of early 2000’s acts like Broken Social Scene and WIlco, as well as contemporaries like Indigo De Souza and Buck Meek, the songs embrace their influences while pursuing their own signature sound.
Lived-in and sincere, the songs compile scenes of past lives, new homes, and dead friends. The Glowworms’ debut EP is a portrait of trying.
Track list:
1. cally park
2. Trench coat
3. east bay (ships in the)
4. hand
5. you do not matter
Blending elements of folk, indie, and rock, The Glowworms’ debut EP takes listeners through a range of alternative sounds - from delicate and atmospheric to bold and driving. Showcasing impressive versatility, the band moves effortlessly between moods and styles, with each track offering something distinct yet cohesive. Cello lines weave through more conventional indie-rock arrangements of electric guitar and drums, creating lush textures that feel both haunting and warm. The result is an immersive, DIY sound that’s as familiar as it is fresh.
Emerging onto the scene in 2024, The Glowworms had just three singles to their name before this release. Still, they've already begun carving out a presence on London’s live circuit, most recently performing at Brixton’s Windmill - a cornerstone venue for rising acts. With ‘W.O.D’, they introduce themselves as one an exciting new name in the city’s indie underground.
