October 23, 2025 - Today, Spanish Love Songs release “Heavenhead” ft. Illuminati Hotties. The single is the newest offering from their forthcoming EP, A Brief Intermission in the Flattening of Time, out everywhere November 21 via Pure Noise Records.

“Heavenhead” is a bittersweet track about reckoning with the feeling that happiness is fleeting and being terrified that positive feelings are only temporary. Bright instrumentals juxtapose frontman Dylan Slocum’s vocals as he laments, “I’ll be standing on the shore, begging for that tidal wave.”

“We’ve been huge fans of Sarah & her work both with Illuminati Hotties and as a producer for some time now,” shares Slocum. “Collin Pastore, who produced ‘No Joy’, had recommended we work with her as soon as we possibly could. The vibe of the song felt perfect for her, and it turns out we were correct! She crushed it and elevated the song to an entirely different level! Now I’m just sad I can’t have her harmonizing with me on every song.”

Sarah Tudzin, frontperson of Illuminati Hotties adds “When Dylan reached out about guesting on a track it was a yes, no question, before even hearing it. I’ve loved the records SLS has put out, and this track delivers in the most epic way - it’s a windows down, volume ALL the way up chorus and i couldn’t help but sing along!”

“Heavenhead” follows previous double singles Cocaine and Lexapro” ft. Kevin Devine, the answer to 2018’s “Beer & Nyquil (Hold It Together),” and Berlin ft. Tiger’s Jaw, a moody and darkly romantic offering that gives fans a taste of what they can expect from the upcoming EP and its impressive collaborations.

A Brief Intermission in the Flattening of Time is the follow-up to Spanish Love Songs’ 2025 No Joy Sessions and marks their first new release since 2023’s No Joy. More than just a stopgap, the EP feels like a reflective breath, where the band, producer Arun Bali (Saves The Day) and their collaborators simultaneously revisit the past and peer into what lies ahead. It’s an intermission, yes - but one that ended up meaning a lot more than expected.
