“Wait For It” , the first single off of Frances Baker's LP “ Blossom” arrives with sweeping strings. The song marks a turning point in her career, transitioning from sample heavy songs to a composition laced with live strings and intimately recorded vocals. Starting with a Lush string arrangement, before boiling down to a scratch vocal and guitar, Wait For It whisks one away into an acoustic ballad that could double as the backdrop of a ballet performance.

Blending analog synthesis, live strings and nylon guitar, Frances Baker merges modern and vintage production styles for a clever and understated arrangement. “When you feel like there is no  answer as to why what happened happened” Baker explains. The acoustic ballad  is laced with a stunning string performance by three of the members of Nebulous Quartet. 

Determined to focus more on live instrumentation, Baker has collaborated with instrumentalists to diverge from the sample based production style heard on most of her work thus far.

Frances Baker is a singer, songwriter, and producer based in Brooklyn, New York. After releasing her first project in 2021, Baker was discovered by Arlo Parks.  This relationship led to Baker supporting Arlo Parks on tour for the UK Leg of the Collapsed in Sunbeams tour. Baker went on to release several singles, including collaborations with Reggie Pearl, French record label Kitsuné and Ava McCoy. During this time, she has been working tirelessly on her debut album.
