Sharing what ‘afterparty’ means to her, Karina Stone expresses; “The song emulates the melancholic haze & emotional clean up post night out ; thrown off by a cold shoulder, reeling from that push and pull of a situationship.”
Catagorised as ‘sad pop’, ‘afterparty’ is rich in a mellow, melodious sound, and is described by Karina as “an intimate outpouring from my notes page.” Her music is fundamentally built on the personal experiences that have shaped her life so far, and is used as a way to document and process such core moments in her youth.
As a brand new singer-songwriter on the scene, there is much potential and raw talent to be played with as she progresses and begins her journey towards the release of her debut EP, coming this year.
