We spent the day in Hell with Mountain Dew, Action Bronson, and ended with DJ Pauly D

It's been a while since we've done a product review, let alone a food review. So we figured that this time around we will try to make it a little bit more adventurous and that's when a conversation and a text link appeared later on about an event happening in Michigan. That's when we received a word about a one-day event happening in Hell, Michigan. This event was sponsored by Mountain Dew in celebration of their brand new flavor Flaming Hot, which is a combination of a sweet and spicy into a drink, which has been a cult favorite and hard to get. What better’s than a flaming hot drink? Pairing it with a very hot place. This is the part of the story where we tried to figure out if Dad Jokes were going to be in this article. But, the night was a dad joke and we couldn’t agree more. The promotion of the night was going to be spent with miniature golf food created by gourmet chef Action Bronson and ending the night with DJ Pauly D's appearance Keep that in mind this was a perfect time to go and explore this adventure

We arrived at the event lineup which took place at a community high school. Due to limiting parking, the event decided to use a shuttle service to transport the excited fans to Hell. We're glad to report that if we didn't show up two hours early, we would not be able to be at the event due to its limited capacity of two thousand people. This also included a small group of influencers who arrive at the three o'clock mark of when the buses were to depart. Which did upset a lot of the people who had been waiting in line for more than two and a half hours period.

The downside of the event was a small little rainstorm that happened between three to four, where those who were in the miniature golf section like myself, did get drenched in the rain period. Note to self: if it's going to rain do bring about some kind of raincoat because we didn't bring one. Those who took part in the miniature golf did get the opportunity to get merch of your own choosing (Unless you did this with a group, then it was a battle of Rock Paper Scissors for it). Some of the items included a hoodie (What we picked), Long a sleeve dry-fit shirt, hats, and oven mitts. Oh, there was a Viking can hat, that someone did win.

Like we said before Action Bronson was there to create a menu for the event. However, they didn't specifically tell you how you got to meet Action Bronson. I found out later on that this was a private VIP members-only area. Details about how to get into it were very fuzzy from the beginning. A lot of people who are waiting in line for hours to see him didn't get the chance to see him. I had the opportunity to check it out. By means of communicating with one of the staff members there (Thank you). Once inside, you'd soon discover that he was filming a commercial with Mountain Dew while making cocktails for the commercial as well as having a Thanksgiving-style meal with the items that he had created for the event with other influencers This was a small intimate moment in which he did communicate with those who are not part of the influencer group signed a few cookbooks as well as menus that he had created. Now you did have the opportunity to have his food outside of that VIP event which included a spicy tuna dish and a ribs dish using the Mountain Dew drink as a base for the meal.

Hell’s Spicy Tuna ($13) is a Raw tuna with sesame seeds, scallions, MTN Dew Flaming Hot Sauce, served on Flmain’ Hot Dorito Chips. This was the dish we had purchased before seeing Action. The overall appearance was alright. It was basically made to look like nachos without the fun. The spice was there but it really was meant to be an hors d’oeuvres as opposed to a meal.

Rasing Hell Ribs ($17) is a beef short ribs, with MTN Dew Flaming Hot Sticky Sauce with chopped Cilantro. This was the plate we tried with Bronson, and this one was honestly the one we should have bought (It would have also been a lot hotter.) We do love that they had said sticky sauce as opposed to barbecue sauce. This one was one of our personal favorites as the flavors of MTN Dew drink sauce did come out. Something about an MTN Dew sauce never really thought to cross our mines but it was a hit with the crowd both inside the restaurant and outside.

Those were the main two that they promoted at the top of the menu, there were also two others mentioned on the menu. a tortilla soup and a pulled porked sandwich. Of course both with either MTN Dew sauce and Doritos chips.

Now we didn’t try any of the drinks because the lines were outrageous, if you want us to do a live taste test. Let us know.

Now, this is the part of the story we should have mentioned earlier, we had never tried the drink. We had been saving that opportunity for this event. So when we got our Tuna dish, that’s when we tried the drink. Sitting next to a few Tiktok influencers (oh which we forgot their names), we tried the drink together. The drink was oddly satisfying. Taylor who doesn’t really drink MTN Dew, found herself finishing the drink with no problem. The drink kinda felt like a margarita with Tajin in it. As for the Tiktok influences, they didn’t care for the spice. Which has been a common thing amongst those who drank it.

The night concluded with DJ Pauly D performing in front of the thousands that attended the event. Playing of course a few themed choice songs. Actually, we should mention, that the majority of the music during the day was all themed around Hell. The first song we heard as we got off the bus was Burnnin up by the Jonas Brothers. About halfway through his set, the crew passed out giant Paully D heads for the crowd to shake as the night turn into a party. Honestly, it was a fun way to end the night. The one downside that we know was a killer for most of the people who attended was the lack of internet connection. We have been to Hell, Michigan before and knew this going into the event. but as one of the fans who was waiting in line next to us had said to us “Sucks to be one of those influencers.” Waiting this long to get into the event was the karma we didn’t expect; Overall, we had a great time in Hell. It was truly one of the Hottest places we’ve been to.

Editors Note: Forgot to mention, we were not paid to do this. We are not associated with Mountain Dew….As of yet. So this is completely pure in terms of review. We wouldn’t even know how to contact MTN Dew for creditional.
