Mo Pop + Populace Coffee = The Combo Power Move
Populace Coffee teamed up with Mo Pop Music Festival on a limit edition mug and coffee blend. Now, we are no master coffee reviewer so as just a regular Joe Schmo, here is what we think of the latest coffee blend curated for this music festival.
The Design: It is such an adorable package design. The eight bit look mix with the Detroit Skyline feels almost video game style. I find it get’s your attention for the moment before the smell get’s to you first. Which brings me on to the next point.
The Smell: First I should mention, this coffee has to be shipped in one day to give you the freshest possible coffee beans in your hands. Before you complain about about the one day shipping price, just note there is a reason. So when opening the package the aromas are hard hitting. It maybe because of the travel in a hot vehicle but I opened the package to a smack of earth and almost sweet tones punching my face and I’m just here going “Stop it, it’s too much.”
The Taste: This is where it my skills as a master coffee maker will not be my strong suit at discussing. So, we will go over my basic coffee routine.
Drip Coffee / Keriug /cheap coffee grounds in a reusable kcup maker
brown sugar during work / caramel coffee creamer at home.
Now, that you know that it will be easier to explain how I feel about it. The last time I drank black (no sugar or creamer) coffee was when I was in Chicago. The coffee was from roasters made locally. It was well balance and I didn’t think I needed to add to it to make it better. With this coffee, I didn’t need to add anything, which is a shocker for me. It was just light enough for me to feel the flavors a bit more. Is it bitter? just a bit but it nice (I just got a chemix for this, that is still new adventure).
Overall I wish it wasn’t a limited edition, I would buy another bag once this was gone from my pantry. The bag itself is sold out on the page but you can still get it if you get this adorable mug with it. It’s a loop hole but it’s once again, a limited time only.
