#Live: Il Volo live at the Fox Theatre

Il Volo live at the Fox Theatre

When everything is running at full speed, we like to take the time to enjoy the scenery once in a while. One way is to attend something with a more classical theme, and last Friday we did just that. Dressed up in our Sunday best, we found ourselves at the Fox Theatre catching Il Volo, an Italian trio who recently performed for Pope Leo XIV in front of thousands during Italy’s highly regarded cultural event Giubileo dei Giovani. Which is why we didn’t want to miss this chance to catch their show.

The night started on time with the band doing a warm-up song before the trio arrived from stage left. The last time the trio had been to Michigan was over seventeen years ago, and yet the audience made them feel like it was their first time with the excitement at one hundred percent. Playing a few classic Italian operas, they mixed them into their own set, giving the audience a night to remember. They were a delight on stage, with funny moments between them and engaging with the audience. They also performed a few off their newest album, AD Astra, which is out now. They have one more date in the US before they set their sights on the world.

The world tour starts July 1st, with stops in Greece, Spain, and, of course, Italy. Before coming back to the US in the fall. So there is always a chance to catch a class act.
