[Los Angeles, CA] – Multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and vocalist Lola Bates (formerly known as Lola Colette) today unveiled her new single, “Girl’s Girl,” available now across all major streaming and digital platforms. The track serves as the first official release from her forthcoming debut album, Love and Power, arriving spring 2026 via the newly launched label, Gravel and Echo Recordings, distributed by Virgin Music Group.

Built around a hypnotic, steady groove between the electric bass and drum kit, “Girl’s Girl” is dark, sultry, and emotionally layered, challenging the notion of morality and what it means to be a “girl’s girl” through the lens of a romantic entanglement between three people. Written during the early stages of shaping Love and Power, the track captures Bates experimenting with new rhythms and textures while stepping confidently into a bold sonic era.

“I love a challenge,” says Bates. “When my producing partner was keen on hearing a ‘steady groove’ track on my debut album, I accepted and wrote ‘Girl’s Girl.’ The groove leaves space for the vocal melody and harmonies to weave like a serpent through the song. It’s dark and sexy, and right off the bat we’re exploring the complexity of ‘Love and Power’—love, loyalty, power dynamics, and imperfection. No relationship is perfect, no woman is perfect, but we strive to show up for each other the best we can.

The single is accompanied by an art-forward music video co-produced by Bates alongside director Chandler Clamp and producer Isabel Mesko, underscoring her role not only as a songwriter and performer, but also as a creative director shaping the full visual and emotional world of her music.

Set for release in spring 2026, Love and Power is a body of work recorded between Bates’ Laurel Canyon studio and Studio C at the legendary EastWest Studios in Los Angeles. The album is a cinematic exploration of a young woman discovering her inner strength and claiming agency in life, love, and relationships. Co-produced by Maxwell Joseph, engineered by award-winning Robert Carranza (Jack Johnson, Ozomatli), and executive produced by renowned composer Tyler Bates (Jerry Cantrell, John Wick), the project marks a fully realized artistic statement and a defining introduction to Bates’ sonic and thematic universe.

Robert Carranza and Tyler Bates are not only collaborators on the record but founders in the launch of Gravel & Echo Recordings. The pair will oversee A&R and development of the label roster with more exciting signings to come this year. On Gravel & Echo’s first release, Tyler Bates shares, “A musician, writer, composer, and vocalist, Lola's journey in becoming a unique and authentic artist with the capability to perform at the top of her game - under extreme pressure - is absolutely inspiring."

On “Girl’s Girl,” Lola Bates introduces the world to the sensual, sophisticated, and emotionally fearless landscape of Love and Power, an album poised to establish her as one of the most compelling emerging artists of 2026.

Lola Bates’ “Girl’s Girl” is available now across all major streaming and digital platforms.

About Lola Bates

Lola Bates is not your traditional singer songwriter. Raised in the hills of Laurel Canyon, her musical roots connect deeply to nature, vinyl, and the historic - lady of the canyon - Joni Mitchell, as well as other female rock and pop icons Kate Bush, Tori Amos and PJ Harvey to name a few. Bates is a classically trained pianist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, who weaves lush vocal harmonies throughout pop, rock, and folk arrangements in her original songs - all showcased on her upcoming debut LP, 'Love and Power.' Along with writing, producing and arranging her own records and performing the majority of the instruments on her songs, Lola works as an art and video director, and producer, on her music videos and album visuals.

At the age of 24, she has already had a prolific career. In 2022, Bates and her band toured in support of Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains) Brighten Tour, and then joined Cantrell’s band as keyboardist, backup vocalist and acoustic guitarist, for Cantrell’s world tour in support of his albums ‘Brighten’ and ‘I Want Blood.’ Furthering her career as an international touring musician, Bates then joined emerging pop band, Sunday (1994) on bass, for their supporting and headlining tours in 2024/2025.

At age 12, Bates performed the piano work for Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 at Capitol Records Studios, followed by her work with the London Symphony Orchestra as the solo pianist for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, at age 15, recorded in Studio One at Abbey Road studios. Her vocal chops can be heard on Jerry Cantrell’s Brighten album, Adult Swim's animated TV show Genndy Tartakovsky’s PRIMAL and CBS Tracker. Lola’s performance of Martha and the Vandellas’ 'Nowhere to Run' was featured in John Wick: Chapter 4, and her ethereal vocals for the film’s score and soundtrack album are examples of her seasoned musical chops and ability to transcend emotion in the context of storytelling.

With her wealth of experience and unique background as a writer and performer, Lola Bates will be showcasing her artistry and taking ‘Love and Power’ to stages everywhere in 2026.
