BAD GIRL
OUT NOW VIA NO LABEL MUSIC/SONY MUSIC JAPAN
[Friday, March 27th, 2026] – Rising global Japanese girl-group HANA releases their song, “BAD GIRL”, out now via No Label Music/Sony Music Japan. You can listen to the title track, “BAD GIRL” HERE and watch the performance video HERE.
First heard in Apple’s “Group Selfie on iPhone 17 Pro” campaign, “BAD GIRL” has received an amazing amount of buzz, making it truly one of their most highly-anticipated songs. “BAD GIRL” expresses the universal desire to be loved and accepted. It’s a slightly bittersweet rock love song that portrays the awkwardness and inner conflict of not being able to be your true self in front of someone you love, and instead trying to match their ideal. The seven members of HANA each convey these emotions through their own voices.
The song comes shortly after the release of their self-titled debut album which charted on the Billboard Japan charts and have put them on the forefront of global expansion in Japan. You can listen to their album, “HANA” HERE. Within the next couple of months, HANA will be heading to the US to do their first-ever activity within the United States for the Zipangu Festival hosted by Japanese rock artist Ado in partnership with Goldenvoice.
Since their debut in April 2025, HANA has continued to release music non-stop, steadily establishing their presence in the scene. The group has undoubtedly dominated the Japanese pop-market, with continuous number one debuts on Billboard Japan and even instances where they knock themselves off the charts, the septet is truly a force to be reckoned with. By exploring multiple different genres as the group grows and sticking true to their message, HANA has garnered attention from music lovers around the world. “With their charismatic appeal and luminary talent, HANA is ready to take on the world as long as they’re doing it together,” says Forbes. With the momentum internationally brewing, the girls truly are carving out their own lane in the global pop scene as the biggest girl group to come from Japan.
About HANA:
HANA is a seven-member global girl group emerging from Japan with a sound that’s both emotionally and globally grounded. Formed through the BMSG × CHANMINA project “No No Girls,” the group — made up of CHIKA, NAOKO, JISOO, YURI, MOMOKA, KOHARU, and MAHINA — debuted in April 2025 with “ROSE,” a breakout single that quickly climbed charts across Asia and racked up over 100 million streams in just three months. HANA blends alternative pop, R&B, and indie-rock influences with unfiltered, introspective lyrics, HANA’s music reflects a deep sense of youth and longing. It’s personal, cinematic, and refreshingly honest. With each release, the group continues to carve out their own space in the global pop conversation — not by following trends, but by creating their own. Most recently, their latest single, "NON STOP" reached #3 on YouTube's Global Chart and #66 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart. HANA will make their debut on U.S. soil this spring at the Zipangu Festival, hosted by Goldenvoice, on May 16th in Los Angeles, California.
