NEW YORK, NY – February 6, 2026 – Rising pop rock heartthrob, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist kylekelly has released the inevitable sequel, his sophomore EP that picks up right where his critically acclaimed debut a melancholic romcom (2025) and its late night therapy-fueled revelations left off. Five quintessential, emotionally vulnerable tracks highlighting heartbreak, humor, mental health and Gen-Z existentialism, the inevitable sequel begs to be played again while you text someone you shouldn’t. PRESS HERE to listen. kylekelly has three, intimate “double feature” shows planned to celebrate the EP’s release in New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta. Both collections will be played in full, and later this spring, Kelly will tour with Natalie Jane in Europe. Tickets and more information on all dates can be found by visiting www.heykylekelly.com.
Featuring Kelly’s raw, magnetic vocals and vibrant storytelling, the inevitable sequel plays like a collection of snapshots that document key moments over the past several years rather than a single chapter in the artist’s life. It’s a project written across continents (including London’s famed JBJ Studio), and it perfectly blends irresistible and nostalgic pop punk with raw, conversational songwriting. The EP explores themes of growth and self-reflection as Kelly navigates adulthood and learns in real time about relationships, identity and what it means to keep moving forward without all the answers. The result is a project that feels intimate, unpolished in the best way, and deeply relatable.
Growing up in South Jersey, Kelly regularly fell asleep to his CD player and taught himself to play guitar, drums, piano and bass while immersing himself in music theory. Not long after turning seventeen, he started to gig around New York City, performing anywhere with a stage and building an organic buzz that attracted an elite cohort of collaborators including co-producers Jeffery David (Mat Kearney, Seal, Zedd), Brandon Paddock (Avril Lavigne, Boys Like Girls, lovelytheband) and David Sneddon (Lana Del Rey, Lewis Capaldi). Drawing on his personal history with mental health, addiction, and anxious-avoidant habits, Kelly’s work is defined by his eye for storytelling and ability to weave unfiltered emotion with vivid imagery – connecting with fans by holding nothing back.
