GUNSHIP Ignite the Zombie Apocalypse with 'Tell Me When The World Stops Ending' for John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando
[February 25, 2026] - “Tell Me When The World Stops Ending” sees GUNSHIP unleash their most ferocious track yet, written for John Carpenter’s upcoming visceral, zombie-slaying action epic video game Toxic Commando. Produced by GUNSHIP and mixed by Grammy-nominated Carl Bown (Sleep Token), GUNSHIP push their signature sound into searing metal and industrial territory, anchored by the brooding Carpenter-esque synth textures they’re best known for. This song is GUNSHIP cranked to 11 and ideal for full-throttle decimation of the zombie hordes.
GUNSHIP wrote “Tell Me When The World Stops Ending,” exclusively for legendary filmmaker John Carpenter’s upcoming video game Toxic Commando. Developed by Saber Interactive, the studio behind hit titles Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and World War Z, and published by Focus Entertainment, the game is a blood-soaked zombie shooter at a cinematic scale. The partnership is a natural evolution: GUNSHIP’s creative bond with horror icon and synth maestro John Carpenter stretches back to his appearances on the fan-favourite anthems “Tech Noir” and “Tech Noir 2. To quote GUNSHIP “When John Carpenter calls… you answer!”. The band are thrilled to answer the call once again.

Beyond the music, developer Saber Interactive invited GUNSHIP to conceive the animated trailer’s concept after revealing they were longtime admirers of the band’s cinematic music videos. Crafting something distinctly Carpenter-esque felt like a natural extension of GUNSHIP’s immersive visual world-building, a hallmark of their ambitious and widely acclaimed music video catalogue. The song wastes no time setting the mood, opening with a brooding, Carpenter-esque synth line that drips with tension before the unmistakable rack of a pump-action shotgun tears through the silence. From there, GUNSHIP slam into a punishing, high-velocity riff that hits like a sledgehammer. The verses grind with a snarling, Nine Inch Nails-style industrial menace, all distorted textures and mechanical pulse, before the chorus detonates into a massive, anthemic hook. Ominous breakdowns creep and swell with ritualistic intensity, elevated by cult-like choral incantations from legendary alternative ensemble Choir Noir, culminating in a savage mid-section barrage of chain-gun metal riffs that feel tailor-made for mowing down the undead. The wider Toxic Commando universe also includes a comic book in association with Dark Horse Comics, an exciting creative alignment for a band steeped in graphic-novel culture.
The release follows a prolific run for GUNSHIP, including their recent collaboration and remix with Evanescence, their acclaimed cover of “Mad World” with its accompanying Akira-inspired visual, their feature in Corin Hardy’s Aztec death whistle-inspired horror film “WHISTLE”, and the song “Tech Noir 2” which also features an epic voiceover by Carpenter himself. “Tell Me When The World Stops Ending” cements GUNSHIP’s place at the intersection of music, horror, gaming and cinematic sound.
