TUNE-YARDS Release New EP & Share New Single
NORTH AMERICAN TOUR KICKS OFF SEPT 20TH
Today, Tune-Yards have released their new EP, Tell the Future With Your Body- a companion to their most recently released album, Better Dreaming. The May release saw the duo deliver some of the grooviest music of their career and on this new EP, Merrill Garbus and Nate Brenner expand on the loopy, homespun energy of their latest album with four more tracks of irresistible rhythms, basslines and melodies. The tracklisting offers three previously unheard songs from the Better Dreaming recording sessions, including dynamic new track “Sand Into Stone.”
On the new EP, Merrill shares, “‘I breathed on the people and the people started losing their minds.’ These songs came rolling off of our fingers and tongues right after Better Dreaming. With them, we match the overconfidence of backwards tyrannical overlords with the confidence of mid-career artists in the zone. May we release our cultural fear and grief with a breath of fire!”

This Saturday, September 20th the duo kicks off their US shows at WXPN’s XPoNential Music Festival. Highlights include Howard Theatre in Washington D.C. on September 22nd, the Exit/In in Nashville on September 26th and a stop at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC on October 9th. Tickets are on sale now. Tune-Yards’ tour moves across the Atlantic in November, where they’ll perform songs from Better Dreaming for the first time in the UK and Europe, including a show at London’s Royal Festival Hall on November 22. Tune-Yards have also just announced a new show in Istanbul, Turkey, on December 2, tickets for which go on sale this Friday, September 19. Known for their captivating live performances – where layered rhythms, looping beats, and Garbus’ powerhouse vocals collide – these shows promise a versatile return to the stage.
