SIGRID RELEASES NEW SINGLE “Jellyfish” OUT NOW

SIGRID NORWEGIAN POP POWERHOUSE

RETURNS WITH NEW SINGLE

“JELLYFISH”

After two critically acclaimed albums and a string of global hits, Norwegian pop powerhouse Sigrid returns today with “Jellyfish” — the luminous new single, which marks a new era for the pop star, known for her distinctive rasp and soaring vocal ability. Sigrid is the modern pop voice of Scandinavia — a breakout talent who rose from a tiny fishing town in Alesund to global acclaim. Across 2019's top 5 hit Sucker Punch and 2022's top 3 hit How to Let Go – Sigrid has carved a reputation for turning raw emotion into soaring festival anthems — and with “Jellyfish,” Sigrid leans into her more playful side. Watching Napoleon Dynamite in the background of co-writing and co-producing the song, the track channels the indie-leaning sound of the early 2000s and the music she grew up listening to on her iPod, with a carefree energy that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly new, portrayed in the weird and wonderful official video.

Sigrid’s discography is a testament to her ability to turn songs written at the piano into global pop forces,  balancing vulnerability, power, and joy across every release. There’s the instant classic and breakthrough feminist anthem, “Don't Kill My Vibe” — her debut single that shouted independence over sky-scraping drum claps — and the disco strut of “Mirror,” channelling hard-won self-confidence into a glorious festival moment, and the top 10 smash “Strangers” tackled heartbreak with fearless honesty. That knack for forging gold in life's fires continues on Sigrid’s highly anticipated new music. Now 28, Sigrid is approaching love and loss from a wiser, more nuanced perspective.

"It’s my slightly more free-spirited and joyous side," Sigrid says about the song. "I wanted it to feel easy — like a Scandinavian summer. Flirting can feel so chaotic and stupid, but that’s the best part of it.”

“Jellyfish” was written alongside longtime collaborator Askjell Solstrand, who co-wrote and produced Sigrid’s breakthrough ballad “Dynamite”. Their 10-year friendship has been fertile ground for vulnerability in the studio, with complete trust to experiment. "I love using my voice as a vessel to pour my heart out," she shares, "but on this song, I wanted it to sound carefree, joyful, and playful - maybe a bit nonchalant."

After two sold-out global tours, over 2.2 billion global streams, and career-defining moments like performing on Glastonbury's The Other Stage, headlining London’s OVO Wembley Arena, Sigrid found herself in 2024 needing a reset. She stepped away from the pressure of "content culture" in writing rooms to rediscover the joy of making music simply for the love of it. Solo trips to remote parts of Norway, festival stages in South America, and cathartic jam sessions with her band reignited her creative spark. Removing the pressure and embracing instinct, Sigrid started writing whatfelt good in the room, and “Jellyfish” is the result of this headspace.

A festival favorite artist, Sigrid will perform at festivals across Europe and the UK this summer, with dates confirmed at Y NOT, TRNSMT, Latitude, Tramlines, and more.

"Jellyfish" is out now on all platforms.
