LOVE SPELLS ASSURES THE LOVE I SHOWED YOU WAS YOURS TO KEEP WITH NEW EP AVAILABLE NOW
WRAPPING UP TOUR WITH SHARON VAN ETTEN & THE ATTACHMENT THEORY TOMORROW NIGHT
For Immediate Release — (May 22, 2025) — New York, NY — On the verge of a major breakthrough this year, 20-year-old singer-songwriter Love Spells (aka Sir Taegen C'aion Harris) shares his highly anticipated The Love I Showed You Was Yours To Keep EP out today via Loveless/ADA Worldwide. Listen here. It unfolds as a multi-dimensional sensory experience over the course of six tracks. See full EP tracklisting below.
Magnifying his vision, he notably celebrates the EP’s arrival by unveiling the cinematic music video for his new single “Bones And All.” On the track, he pays homage to the acclaimed film of the same name, Bones And All, by director Luca Guadagnino. The visual itself unspools with the grit and spirit of a classic nineties indie movie. The visual follows Love Spells and a female lover as they flee through the city and countryside, bound by a cannibalistic urge they’re trying to resist. As they run, the tension builds—caught between desire, danger, and a desperate attempt to hold on to their humanity.
About the track, Love Spells comments, “I made 'Bones And All' to reflect one of my favorite movies of all time. It resonates so deeply with me because I see in it tones of an eventual all-consuming love and devotion like no other.”
On the whole, the EP encompasses themes of mental health, heartbreak, longing, love, and life’s lessons threaded into soundscapes underpinned by warm production, gentle instrumentation, and ethereal vocals. Regarding The Love I Showed You Was Yours To Keep, Love Spells adds, “This project is a reflection of a chapter in my life that was both eye-opening and emotionally intense. It captures the feeling of discovering a kind of love that shifts your understanding of connection - beautiful, consuming, and ultimately fleeting. Though it ended sooner than expected, its impact remains, leaving behind a sense of gratitude for having felt something so profound, even if only for a moment.”
To preview the EP, he served up “How?” prior. Beyond gaining traction at DSPs, KCRW highlighted “its whirly and heady delights,” christening him, “Early nominee for Breakthrough Artist of 2025.”
Additionally, the EP boasts “Reach Out And Kiss Me,” which received airplay on KCRW and BBC Radio 1’s Future Artists with Sian Eleri, and “Lovers Only,” which premiered as a World Record by Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1. The success of the first two singles has landed Love Spells on the covers of Spotify’s coveted Lorem and Indie Frequency playlists.
