“‘Easiest Goodbye’ is a song I wrote with my four best friends about two years ago, and I fell in love with it from the very first moment. I just never quite knew when the right time would be to release it. I wanted to share something that felt like home—music that reflected what I listen to every day.
After releasing my album and beginning to think about what I wanted to put out next, I thought it would be special to share ‘Easiest Goodbye’ during the South African summer, but I didn’t want it to live as just my voice. I reached out to my friend Manana to see if he’d be interested in featuring on the track. Within 30 minutes, he sent his vocals back, and I was over the moon.
I love this song deeply, and I’m thrilled to finally share it with the world—and even more grateful to release it alongside a friend like him.”
Linley just wrapped his UK / European tour that stopped in major markets like Dublin, London, Berlin, Paris, and more. Next, Linley will head out on his Hopeless Summer South African tour. See full routing below.
ABOUT WILL LINLEY:
Will Linley writes songs that actually sound like love. You can practically feel the onset of new romance bubbling through the softly strummed acoustic chords, swirling around in the synths, and magnified in focus by his impressive and expansive voice. The South African singer and songwriter tunes into emotion and amplifies it across alternative pop anthems spiked with sun-soaked energy. Born in Cape Town, he grabbed onto music during his formative years and never let go. Mom and Dad encouraged Will and his brothers to be creative, so the kids often performed “home concerts” highlighted by Stevie Wonder covers. In 2022, the world was introduced to him. His breakout single “miss me (when you’re gone)” exploded on TikTok, translating to over 27 million Spotify streams. He maintained this momentum with the kill all my feelings EP [2022] and magic EP [2023]. The latter yielded “Last Call,” which garnered over 34 million Spotify streams. He performed to rapt crowds not only in South Africa, but throughout North America and Europe. Not to mention, he supported OneRepublic on the road and graced the bills of major festivals, including Lollapalooza, Barn On The Farm Festival, and Rocking The Daisies, among others. After amassing over 100 million global streams, packing houses on tour, and earning critical acclaim from the likes of Notion, The Line Of Best Fit, Melodic Magazine, and more, his full-length debut LP, Don’t Cry Because It’s Over [Island Records], is the sonic equivalent of your favorite romcom.
