An embodiment of everything the duo stand for, ‘You’re Into This’ is brimming with punchy hooks, chaotic energy, and sharp-edged lyrics that lean fully into their unique blend of hyper-pop, alt edge, and unapologetic confidence.
“This EP was really fun to make and definitely showcases our more poppy side with lots of over-the-top auto-tune”, says vocalist Tasha. “But I also love that Ur No Rockstar is in there to add a more alternative element that impacted the music we make so much”.
Track list:
1. VIDEO
2. Ur fave song (miss the fun)
3. ELEPHANT
4. Ur No Rockstar
5. La La Like You
Kicking off the EP is ‘VIDEO’, a turbo-charged, tongue-in-cheek anthem co-written by Tasha and Saga, alongside collaborators Stefan Abingdon (of The Midnight Beast) and Jake Roche (formerly of Rixton).
“It was a full-circle moment,” Tasha shares. “I was really into TMB when I was younger, similarly with Jake in Rixton. Saga had no idea who Stefan was - but I was absolutely buzzing when he messaged us on Instagram to write together. The song is funny but we just had such a great time in the studio writing it. It was great vibes.”
Written in Stefan’s backyard shed-turned-studio and produced in Saga’s bedroom, ‘VIDEO’ fuses COWZ’s maximalist aesthetic with Stefan’s quirky-pop background and Jake’s slick songwriting instincts.
Known for their DIY spirit and attitude, COWZ continue to forge their own path in the alt-pop scene. From packed festival sets to their biggest live shows to date, 2025 is already shaping up as a breakout year for the duo.
Saga shares; “All of these songs have gone through sooooo many versions since they are some of our earlier babies but we wanted to take them to COWZ 2025 vibes. We are way more in your face and hyper pop now than we were when these originally were written so very pleased with how they’ve grown with us. They’re all full of attitude and very much a statement from us that we are the next big thing, you are into this, admit that you love it”, adds Saga.
With undeniable passion and a sharp sense of direction, COWZ are charging ahead and ‘You’re Into This’ is a bold, chaotic yet cohesive reflection of this.
More on COWZ…
COWZ are a Brighton-based queer alt-pop duo with music that can only be described as “girl’s girl pop with violent and sometimes political undertones”; and they’ve just finished taking on the 2025 festival season. The band were crowned the overall winners of the Band App 2025 competition, chosen by John Kennedy and Alcopop having beat 1500 other applications. The competition win landed them a MainStage slot at Truck, and sets at Y Not, Victorious and Tramlines, and will be celebrating their success by releasing their second EP ‘You’re Into This’ on November 5th. The work will include the lead single ‘Video’ written with Stefan Abingdon (The Midnight Beast, Rory, Selena Gomez) and Jake Roche (Rixton), a true hyper-pop extravaganza.
COWZ recently bagged a support slot warming up for Absolutely Anytime at Camden Assembly Hall on the 17th October, and are supporting Lori at Rossi Bar in Brighton on the 25th October. They will also be appearing on Radio X for a live lounge with John Kennedy on the 14th November, performing tracks off the new EP.
Blending elements of punk, pop and electronic sounds, COWZ have cause quite a stir in multiple areas of the industry, and their versatility earned them
spaces on various line ups for this year (Misfits 2.0 Why Generation with Mouth Culture and Frozemode, Rebellion Festival, Multitude Festival). COWZ were
founded 3 years ago by Saga Wahl and Tasha Bloom, and their rapid rise to the top of alternative music is nothing less than overwhelmingly impressive. With a
debut EP hitting over 100,000 streams within 3 months of release, DORK’s pick for Y NOT festival 2024 and Radio 6 play of their hit single ‘DOMINATION’, a COWZ
set is not one you want to miss.
