LEAD SINGLE “STRANGE WORLD” PREMIERED IN SEPTEMBER BY

KCRW MORNING BECOMES ECLECTIC + FLOOD MAGAZINE

Today, Los Angeles based Mexican/Colombian artist, producer, singer, rapper, and multi-instrumentalist St. Panther (Dani Bojorges-Giraldo, they/them) releases a soulful R&B single, “The Deal.” Filled with old-school lustre, soundtracked by meticulous bass lines and hypnotic jazzy keys dialed in by St. Panther themselves, “The Deal” confesses love and admiration with an abundance of growing pain. - Listen here

An instant classic, “The Deal” is the moment in the upcoming Strange World EP where St. Panther stops dedicating themselves to the fast-moving world for just a moment, to reassess how that might’ve hurt something more tender and closer to home. Accompanying the single, St. Panther releases a mesmerizing and meditative live performance video of “The Deal,” featuring various long-time collaborators including the upcoming EP’s co-producer, McClenney (H.E.R., Khalid, Jamila Woods). - Watch here

On the new single, St. Panther said: “Now I’m not sure if it’s always right to, but I tend to put music where prolonged silences live. I’m not sure why it’s so hard to say what sometimes only music can, but in this case I wish someone had known me better and wanted to write a song like Dido’s ‘White Flag’ shortly afterward, a song that said - if nothing else - my love was true.”

PRE-SAVE STRANGE WORLD

Due November 7th, 2025, the defiant genre-transforming EP Strange World is a collection of soulful modern pop songs narrating and confronting the wider climate of uncertainty and oblivion. Strange World marks St. Panther’s first release with the art-forward label drink sum wtr and their first compilation of music since their 2020 breakout debut EP, These Days.

Following the departure from the major label network, St. Panther took the time to be among their peers. This project sees the blessing of many of previous collaborators, with McClenney sitting in the co-producer chair and Erik Bodin of Little Dragon’s acoustic drumming featured in the title track. “I took this long pause to really listen to my village, listen to the needs of my community, and the people around me,” said St. Panther, “We're all feeling the weight of the world on our shoulders a bit. We want hope for our listeners, we want people to feel heard and that there's someone out there representing this feeling.”

While their previous music soundtracked many people’s early 2020s, Strange World is about St. Panther: their village, their people, themselves–but also, this “strange world” we live in today. Strange World is bound to arrive at a peculiar time in American/world history. Drawing references and revolutionizing genres including but not limited to soul, R&B, jazz, hip-hop and alt-pop, the EP sets out to urge for a sense of purpose, security and love amidst universal apathy and chaos, in an intuitive sound that seamlessly blends timelessness with St. Panther’s modern touch. Its title track received a double premiere from KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic and FLOOD Magazine, with additional praises from Ones To Watch, Earmilk, RIFF Magazine, and more.

Regarding the EP, St. Panther remarked: “It’s been highly impactful–to say the absolute least–to witness the world in the state it’s in today. In so many lyrics and melodies, I’m using this set of songs as a method of putting certain messages into our ether, intentionally shouting certain things from the rooftops that a friend jokingly said ‘for world peace;’ but this music is meant to activate people in some way to meditate about our relationship to each other, which feels like a good use for music right now.”

ABOUT ST. PANTHER:

St. Panther is the recording project of Dani Bojorges-Giraldo (they/them), a Mexican/Colombian artist, producer, singer, rapper, and multi-instrumentalist living in East Los Angeles. Strange World, a new EP of soulful modern pop songs, marks St. Panther’s first release with art-forward label partner drink sum wtr. A striking return and sign of what’s to come, Strange World reignites the excited simmer that surrounded their 2020 breakout debut EP, These Days.

A St. Panther song can move between soul, R&B, jazz, hip-hop, or alt-pop; what makes it theirs is an ear for inventive, inviting production and an unmistakable voice. Whether raspy or silky, crooning or rapping, that drawl contains pure charisma, joy, and grit. Their ability to tap into life’s vibrance as much as its pain places them within a rarified throughline of expressive pop greats from Wonder to Winehouse.

Five years is a long time in this strange world, and Bojorges-Giraldo used it wisely, making space to grow as an artist and person, to record, and to “become a part of my village.” Strange World sessions were split between that familiar setting and a new one, Haven Sound, the Burbank studio run by co-producer Chris McClenney (H.E.R., Khalid, Jamila Woods). In contrast to the capitalist dream, St. Panther is here for human success. “I want our communities to succeed in caring about each other.” Great pop music often holds a mirror to generations, and St. Panther does so here with timeless ease.
