JOINS SABRINA CARPENTER'S SHORT N' SWEET TOUR THIS FALL
October 10, 2025 — Today, acclaimed R&B singer, songwriter, and producer Amber Mark unveils her sophomore album Pretty Idea, a love letter to the smooth sounds of old-school soul that explores the heartache, chaos, and heady highs of love. Out now via Big Family Music / Interscope Records, the sonically luxe collection arrives alongside the intoxicating new single “Don’t Remind Me” featuring nine-time GRAMMY winner Anderson .Paak. Listen to the album HERE and watch the “Don’t Remind Me” video — which co-stars Anderson .Paak and Carmen Electra — HERE.
“Don’t Remind Me” finds Mark and .Paak trading spiky verses and honey-dipped harmonies over glittering soul-funk production. “Baby you made a waste of me,” she sings. “Foolish to think I’d be really over this.” He sees things differently: "Constantly follow me, haunting and calling me … Honestly, I can’t think logically when you keep popping up / Like, ‘Hi AP!’ How are you finding me?” While their perspectives playfully differ, they unite effortlessly on the dreamy chorus.
All of that chemistry and charisma also comes through in the cinematic visual directed by Olivia de Camps (LISA, Tyla, Rebecca Black). The “Don’t Remind Me” video finds Mark crashing an ex’s wedding — that just so happens to be in a nursing home and MC’d by the glamorous (and seemingly magically endowed) ’90s icon Carmen Electra. .Paak soon joins the surreal party, which provides the perfect canvas for the collaborators’ shared love of vintage Black fashion.
The follow-up to Mark’s much-loved 2022 debut album Three Dimensions Deep, Pretty Idea finds her working with high-profile past collaborators like Julian Bunetta (Gracie Abrams, royel otis), John Ryan (Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Dean), Matt Zara (Teddy Swims, Lola Young), and Two Fresh (Samara Cyn, Duckwrth). to craft a warm, cohesive sound influenced by the eclectic nature of classic R&B and swirled up with her signature flourishes of contemporary alt-soul, indie-folk, and dream-pop.
From the Motown-inspired lead single “Sweet Serotonin” to the disco-tinged “Let Me Love You” on through the shimmering obsession of “Too Much” (which interpolates USHER and Alicia Keys’ 2004 hit “My Boo”) the 12-song set reflects and amplifies the freedom and joy of Mark’s current era. Other highlights include the unapologetic self-celebration of “Doin’ Me,” guitar-driven tearjerker “The Best of You,” and the hazy but resilient “Problems.”
Later this month, Mark will bring the sweet soul of Pretty Idea to a whole new audience when she joins Sabrina Carpenter’s blockbuster Short n' Sweet Tour, which includes six nights at Los Angeles' Crypto.com Arena and five nights at New York's hallowed Madison Square Garden, in addition to major venues across North America. Tickets HERE and dates below.
Pretty Idea builds on the momentum of November's Loosies EP, a free-wheeling set meant to hold fans over while she finished the album. Featuring the playful “Wait So Yeah,” blissful disco cut “Won’t Cry,” and sultry Jersey club flip “Sink In,” Loosies racked up fan and critic love. The New York Times included “Wait So Yeah” in their The Playlist feature. Wonderland noted Mark’s "boundless creativity and undeniable artistry." The Fader wrote, "If Loosies was meant to quell the impatience of waiting for Mark's next record, I'm afraid it's only done the opposite."
With Pretty Idea, Mark reaffirms her status as one of today’s most compelling original voices — blending timeless R&B with forward-thinking production to create something wholly her own. As she prepares to take the stage on one of the year's biggest tours, Amber Mark steps into her new era with renewed confidence and the undeniable creativity she’s shown since day one.
