VIENNA VIENNA RELEASES QUEER ANTHEM

“GOD SAVE THE QUEENS”

LISTEN TO “GOD SAVE THE QUEENS”

NORTH AMERICAN TOUR WITH K.FLAY KICKS OFF FEB 24

Los Angeles, CA - January 31, 2024 - Today, Vienna Vienna drops his unapologetically Queer anthem, “God Save the Queens.” With a gritty, guitar-driven alternative sound, the track is pure Glimmer Rock—raw, untamed, and full of attitude.

“God Save the Queens” is a defiant celebration of queerness, cutting through the noise of societal expectations and the constraints placed on the LGBTQIA+ community. Vienna Vienna’s bold vocals lead the charge, challenging everything from outdated norms to the pressures of religious conformity. The track oozes with rebellious energy, offering a powerful call to arms for anyone who's ever felt like they didn’t fit in. The chorus, “God Save the Queens, And all the in-betweens,” roars as a defiant statement of inclusivity, reminding everyone that love and identity, in all forms, deserve to be celebrated.

The video for “God Save the Queens” is a bold statement, confronting the current climate with unapologetic defiance and a call for liberation. Set against the backdrop of a neon-lit crucifix, Vienna Vienna performs on stage as a powerful symbol of resistance, surrounded by a crowd of queers, punks, and outcasts - and includes a cameo from RuPaul's Drag Race season 15 contestant Salina Es Titties! The chaos that unfolds—a mix of queerness, rebellion, and raw joy—offers a direct challenge to the systems that oppress and marginalize. A riot of self-expression, the video is a fierce declaration of freedom in the face of a world trying to stifle it. In a time when queerness and individuality are under constant attack, the video is a rallying cry to stand together and embrace the power of who we are.

When asked about the inspiration behind the song, Vienna Vienna shared, “JOY!! DO YOU HEAR ME??? JOY!!!! There are too many sad stories about us Queens. We deserve a chance to smile. Fuck subtlety—I want it bold and I want it now! The amount of people who died fighting for the right to be themselves is uncountable. I’m sick of waiting around for the respect they’re never going to give us. I’m over being afraid of lust and life. I’m done holding my hands up to the sky, and asking the man-made version of Christ to love me. I’m pissed. But in all of this, in all of my worn-out grievances, the one that churns the most unrest is knowing how they laugh at us, all while wearing those fucking cargo shorts. With no apology, 'God Save The Queens' points the finger right back at them. Corny bitches.”

As part of the release, Vienna Vienna has launched a limited-edition “God Save the F★GS” t-shirt, as seen in the song’s artwork and video. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Los Angeles LGBT Center, supporting their crucial work advocating for and uplifting the LGBTQIA+ community. “God Save the Queens” follows Vienna Vienna's debut EP Wonderland, released on National Coming Out Day (October 11) via PULSE Records and Pete Wentz’s DCD2 label. The EP fuses shimmering guitars, infectious melodies, and raw lyrics to explore queerness, self-acceptance, and faith. It features the lead single “Vienna (Everything’s Fine),” praised for its electric alt-rock sound and introspective lyrics. With its catchy hooks and biting humor, the track gained major traction, landing spots on Spotify’s New Music Friday, New Alt, All New Rock, and playlists like New Noise and The Locker. It was also featured on EA Sports' NHL 25 soundtrack.

Fans can tap into the raw energy of “God Save The Queens” and Wonderland live as Vienna Vienna embarks on his upcoming tour with K.Flay, kicking off February 24, 2025, in Sacramento at Ace of Spades.

ABOUT VIENNA VIENNA:

Vienna Vienna is always waiting for his next chance to take the stage, to electrify the audience with glimmer rock: performance is an essential part of the equation. The multi-instrumentalist sees performing as “a chance at vulnerability without all the pressure.” His debut EP Wonderland reflects his journey with queerness and self-acceptance, creating a space of shared catharsis at his shows. Growing up anxious and conflicted about his identity, Vienna Vienna found solace in music, which evolved from a coping tool into a means of self-expression and self-love. Now signed to PULSE Records and co-released by Pete Wentz’s label DCD2, Wonderland blends ‘00s pop-punk, queer pop, and soft-rock ballads, celebrating strangeness and authenticity.
