‘walk’ marks a significant step forward in sadplanet's musical evolution, offering a floaty atmosphere underscored by a steady, pulsating rhythm. The song seamlessly weaves together elements of alternative rock, shoegaze, and indie, creating a rich, atmospheric listen. Its layered guitars, ethereal synths, and resonant vocals build an immersive experience, drawing listeners into the band's uniquely melancholic world.

Lyrically ‘walk’ is a meandering, absent reflection on high school pretentiousness and exploring sexuality. The track was co-produced by Dominic Freeman and Ben Easton (deary), mixed by Ben Easton, and mastered by shoegaze veteran Simon Scott (Slowdive).
sadplanet will be celebrating the release of ‘walk’ with a release show on Saturday 7th September at Next Door Records Two in Stoke Newington, with Oliver Beardmore, Born Again Virgin, and Daisy Chain as supports. Tickets can be purchased here.

Additionally, the band are also going on their first UK tour in November, doing a handful of Northern dates in Manchester, Newcastle and Leeds then supporting deary in London, Bristol and Southampton.

With lots of exciting things on the horizon for this rising 5-piece band, be sure to keep an eye out for what's to come next.

More on sadplanet …

sadplanet is a 5-piece shoegaze/dream pop project based in London. Formed in late 2023, sadplanet comprises Kyra Ho (vocals), Nick Rainey (guitar), Aiden Knowles (guitar), Jeff Baker (drums), and Dan Lawrence (bass).

With large, layered instrumentation combining impactful percussion, harmonious guitar styles, and sweet, soothing vocals with considered lyrics, their cross-genre approach makes for a unique take on the shoegaze revival. Their music is consistently ambient and resonant with memorable hooks.

Their debut releases are reflective of their singularly shoegaze but melodic style.
