On the release, Sydney shares, “‘Not Now But Someday’ is really a right person, wrong time song. I don’t know if I always believe in that, but I think we have all had that moment of thinking ‘maybe this will work out someday’ and for some people it does! And other times we realize we should probably just move on. Nevertheless, it’s fun to hope for the best and we all need that sometimes.”
“Not Now But Someday” is the second single from Sydney’s forthcoming EP, Luckiest Girl Alive, out July 12th. The song joins previously released title track “Luckiest Girl Alive,” showcasing her dynamic vocals as she speaks on having life fall into place after meeting that special someone. On the 5-track EP, listeners are introduced to the new era in Sydney’s musical journey and offered a glimpse into a time capsule of her youth as she explores the various emotions she experienced personally or witnessed from those around her while adding a bit more edge to her distinct Southern-rooted sound.
Luckiest Girl Alive follows the recent release of her debut album 17 Young and Stunning which sees Sydney describing the highs and lows of young love while her forthcoming venture finds her settling into a sound and style that best represents the artist she aims to be. Luckiest Girl Alive was recorded at John and Martina McBride’s Blackbird Studios in Nashville, produced by Kim Wood Sandusky (Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Thomas Rhett), mixed and mastered by Greg Collins (Gwen Stefani, Ingrid Michaelson, Michelle Branch), and is available for pre-save now here.
