ROLE MODEL KICKS OFF A NEW ERA WITH “OH, GEMINI”

Role Model returns with the new single “Oh, Gemini,” kicking off a brand new era for the burgeoning artist. Released today via Interscope Records, the deeply emotional track poignantly and poetically mourns a relationship and the subsequent reckoning of being on your own. The Maine-born, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter wrote the song in Nashville, collaborating with producers Ian Fitchuk (Kacey Musgraves, Maggie Rogers) and Todd Lombardo. Role Model recalls, “I was bracing for loss, it’s that human feeling that we want to mean something to someone after it’s all said and done, nobody wants to feel easily forgotten.” Listen to “Oh, Gemini” HERE.

In striking juxtaposition to the song’s intimate and acoustic sonics, the official video for “Oh, Gemini,” co-directed by longtime collaborator William DeSena and Tucker Pillsbury (Role Model’s given name), unfolds in the dungeons of a rave reminiscent of a Berlin club. Role Model is seen moving in slow motion through the chaos of bodies, including a cameo from Kevin Abstract, in a stunning depiction of the song’s emotional tug of war. Pondering life, love, and everything between over an ever-evolving sonic palette of pop, alternative, hip-hop and punk, Role Model initially made waves during 2017. He gained traction with early independent singles and received co-signs from Benny Blanco and the late legend Mac Miller. He unassumingly caught fire with projects such as the oh, how perfect and our little angelEPs. The latter included the single “blind,” which has amassed over 117 million Spotify streams to date.

During 2021, “forever&more” racked up 49 million Spotify streams as OnesToWatch christened it “one of our favorite songs of the summer.” DIY pegged him among its “Class of 2022,” and he embarked on a massive world tour with stops at Coachella, Hangout Music Festival, Bonnaroo and more. After attaining hundreds of millions of streams and selling out headline shows, he released his full-length debut album, Rx, in 2022, which earned acclaim from HYPEBEAST, Interview, FLAUNT, People, CLASH Magazine and more. Role Model will be unveiling new music throughout 2024.
