Tune for the first season of Olivia O'Brien new album Episodes
Olivia O’Brien, the Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter with over 3 billion global streams, will release part one of her sophomore album ‘Episodes’ on Friday, June 11 via Island Records. pre-order/save the album here.
‘Episodes’ is a collection of songs with cinematic intensity, encompassing everything from high-drama intrigue to the dark thrill of classic horror as demonstrated in the album’s lead single “Sociopath.” Released last month, “Sociopath” and the song’s official video evokes a frantic and scary theme with a no-holds-barred parody approach to the horror film formula combined with gag-filled, scary movie scenes reminiscent of iconic cult classics like “Scream,” “Scary Movie,” “Paranormal Activity” and more. The song has already amassed over 3.5 million streams and was featured on over 40 New Music Friday playlists on Spotify plus “Pop Rising” and Apple Music’s “New Music Daily” in multiple territories.
In addition to “Sociopath,” part one of ‘Episodes’ will feature five tracks including “No More Friends,” a wildly cathartic anti-love song that shows O’Brien’s affinity for pop-punk with its snarling guitar riffs and explosive chorus featuring Bring Me the Horizon’s, Oli Sykes. See below for full track-listing. Part two will be released later this summer.
Along with releasing part two of ‘Episodes’ this summer, Olivia will also perform at Lollapalooza and Bottle Rock Festivals.
‘Episodes’ is the follow-up to Olivia’s 2019 debut album, ‘Was It Even Real?’ Olivia first made a name for herself as an artist to watch when she collaborated with Gnash on their 5-times platinum 2016 hit “I hate u, I love u,” which has amassed over 2 billion streams to date, including over 1 billion streams on Spotify and over 580 million views on the song’s official video. She was named one of PAPER’s “100 Women Revolutionizing Pop Music” and in 2019, released her debut album in ‘Was It Even Real?’ Last year, Olivia saw viral success once again with the tongue-in-cheek revenge anthem “Josslyn.” Laced with Olivia’s signature poetic vulnerability and comedic vulgarity, the song has been streamed over 125 million times to date. Her viral streaming success has also helped propel her huge social media following (over 1.4 million followers on Instagram, over 1.3 million Tik Tok followers, and over 36.4 million likes on her page).
