DWLLRS SHARE NEW SINGLE “CROWN”

Dec. 1, 2023 – DWLLRS, the southern California-rooted duo of childhood friends Bren Eissman and Joey Spurgeon, extend their breakout string of shimmering quintessential single releases with the arrival of “Crown,” available at all platforms today via Island Records. The record is a poignant deeper cut showcasing their signature intricate production and thought-provoking songwriting but with a refreshing sonic palette that features anthemic acoustic guitar and ballady vocals. “Everybody worships someone or something,” says the duo. “‘Crown’ is about what you treat as royalty in your life. Whether it be material, emotional, or even spiritual — some person or thing wears the crown in your life.”

“Crown” is a self-produced and written record that builds on the meticulously crafted, atmospheric moods explored by DWLLRS on their well-received string of sunny tracks issued over the past year: “Dividends,” “End Of It All,” “Driving,” “Ease,” and ”This Heavens Tall.”

Thus far in 2023, DWLLRS have completed tour legs with fellow Cali singer-songwriter Claire Rosinkranz (February-March); followed by DWLLRS headline shows in April; and a round of European support dates with Quinn XCII (July-August).

ABOUT DWLLRS:

Through chilled-out soundscapes, breezy beats, and sunny melodies, DWLLRS exude timeless West Coast spirit with a personal spin. Born and raised in the beach town of San Clemente, the California duo—Bren Eisman and Joey Spurgeon—draw on a lifelong friendship to create a musical conversation as they bounce between pop, alternative, and indie. Utilizing a range of production techniques and carefully crafted songwriting, DWLLRS alchemize their diverse influences to evoke feelings of existentialism, nostalgia, and heartbreak -- all whilst underpinned by the perpetual hope of better days to come. Under the influence of Frank Ocean, Tame Impala, BROCKHAMPTON, and more, they cooked up a signature style of their own that’s as bright and expansive as the Pacific Coast Highway itself. In 2020, the boys introduced DWLLRS with their debut “And Then We’ll Be Alright.” Right out of the gate, it generated over 4.8 million Spotify streams and counting. Maintaining this momentum in 2022, “Float Throughout The Ceiling” surpassed 4.3 million Spotify streams followed by “Blue Spirits” with 4.7 million Spotify streams. Of the latter, Variance raved, “We’re addicted to DWLLRS’ misty new single ‘Blue Spirits,” and Banger of the Day attested, “The record is laced with brisk guitars, warm harmonies, and lyrics that will make you feel like you are in a daydream.” OnesToWatch promised, “With each new release, DWLLRS pull fans into their own visual world.” They soon caught the attention of Island Records and signed to the label. Their string of quintessential shimmering West Coast vibed single + video releases through the end of 2023 include “Dividends,” “End Of It All,” “Driving,” “Ease,” ”This Heavens Tall” and “Crown.” With a new California sound and open arms, DWLLRS welcome you into their conversation.
