#LIVE CHARLIE BURG at the loving touch
Another sunny day, another day to spend at a show. Last night we checked out Charlie Burg mini-tour. The night was filled with old faces and new sounds. Friends, family, and even a Rabbi traveled from all over Michigan to catch Charlie’s show at the Loving Touch in Ferndale.
The show was fun and exciting to witness. There was a moment when Charlie was alone for a mini acoustic session and played a few requests from the audience. Jokingly he played snippet covers of Wonderwall and American idiot before playing Juno. Charlie did play a few new songs off his album, Chicago (which has yet to be released), break the rhythm, and of course 97 Avalon.
Remember the moment when we said that there were a few old faces in the crowd? For those who may not know Charlie Burg is also in a band called Hard Car Kids. Those members (Jacob Sigman, Stoop Lee, Munch, Austenyo & Leo Pastel) joined Charlie for a song. They did announce at the end of the song, that a second album was in the works.
The Last Chance to see Charlie Burg (Before the album drops) will be at the
5/17 - Bowery Ballroom - New York City, NY
Described by Variety as "an R&B-leaning singer-songwriter,” music has always been in Charlie Burgs life. When he was five years old he found his father's acoustic guitar in his hands and soon began self-teaching songs from the Beatles and Coldplay as part of his musical journey. Early influences spanned the classic sounds of Motown, Hall & Oates, Joni Mitchell, and Carole King, along with formative teenage touchstones like pop-punk and hip-hop. Burg started writing his own songs when he got to college. It was a formative time in which he began to draw from the soulful music that dotted his youth and upbringing. Burg now lives in Brooklyn and has released three EPs — One, Violet, Two, Moonlight, and Three, Fever — which grabbed the attention of major tastemakers at Beats1 and Spotify, the press both in the US and UK, and the FADER Label, to which he is now signed.
