On the first day of Grizmas, Griz open up his charity shop
We are here at 1265 Griswold St for the official kick-off 12 days of Grizmas. 12 Days of Grizmas is obviously a twelve-day event filled with activities from painting, skating, dancing, and yoga. All leading up to a two day show a the Masonic Temple. The best part of this event is that proceeds go to Seven Mile Music, a non-profit that raises awareness and money for music, art, and coding programs for the inner city youth of Detroit.
Back to where we were as we waited in line to get inside the Charity Shop for its Grand Opening. Fans couldn’t wait to get the first look at new/exclusive merch, see Frankie (Griz’s dog), and of course, taste Griz’s coffee collab. Fans drove across state lines to get their hands on a limited edition wing jersey. Taylor's original mission was for those exact jerseys for her sister's Christmas (We mean Grizmas) present. Yes, of course, Griz welcomed the cold and excited fan’s into the shop.
We managed to get our hands on a few of that wing jerseys, but we were also most curious about the coffee collaboration with Detroit's Coffeehaus. An Ethiopian blend should have tasting notes of Blackberry, peach, and strawberries. While we waited to get inside the charity shop, we had the chance to taste the coffee, and we were pleasantly surprised with the flavors. The whole store will be donating 100% of proceeds to the Seven Mile organization, so if you think you might get buyer’s remorse just now, it’s going to a great cause. There is also an auction going on as we speak for exclusive merch, photos, custom tattoos, autograph vinyl, and so much more.
The Store will be open every day of the 12 days of Grizmas between 10 am to 6 pm. As we said, this is the first of many activities. You can get the full detailed list here, but for some of the favorites, we recommend the Dodgeball tournament, community yoga, and community ice skating.
