New music from Paul Natural featuring Airplane Man, come watch it with us
Paul Natural, the ongoing solo endeavor of Brooklyn-based artist and producer, Gabriel Stanley, has just dropped his newest single, “Eat All My Money.”
“Eat All My Money,” which appears on Paul Natural’s forthcoming EP, Only Friends, is now available for public consumption. The song features the indie-pop synth duo, Airplane Man – comprised of Daniel Feldman and Tim Sommers. Feldman and Stanley were roommates during the COVID-19 pandemic, and Sommers has mixed and produced songs for artists like Madison Beer, Lil Wayne, Jason Mraz, and Jennifer Lopez.
"The inspiration for ‘Eat All My Money’ came during the summer before COVID hit NYC when Daniel had just moved to Brooklyn,” shares Stanley.
“It draws influence directly from the lifestyle in our neighborhood that is always full of artists and film crews. One is constantly out and about consuming something. But when lockdown hit, the song took on a whole different meaning, which is reflected in the duplicitous nature of the arrangement with the acoustic guitar gently leading you in until the sub-bass hits you right in the chest.”
The video for the song highlights the individuality of its collaborators – in this case, Airplane Man. Stanley has followed this formula for all his singles previously released as Paul Natural.
"I wanted this video to represent two very present themes in this song - the feeling of being on cloud nine and the realization that the only way you remain there is by spending money. The Airplane Man characters follow a recurring theme in all of my videos - each character is made of a material and a symbol that represents them.”
Stanley is a Director of Photography by trade and started his career working in the camera department while playing music in NYC. He later worked as a Creative and DP with Pharrell Williams, developing content for Williams company i am OTHER. During this time, Stanley’s artist project PROM released their first Billboard charting single.
In 2012, Stanley founded I Love You As A Person, aka ILYAAP, to aid in expanding his body of work as a Director, DP, and creative. To date, He has worked with clients like eBay, Billboard, The Hollywood Reporter, ABC/Disney, Audi, Conde Naste, Sony/UMG, Larry King, MTV, NBC, and Bravo.
In 2018, Stanley, As Director of Photography, and long-time collaborator Jenna Laurenzo, as Writer, Director and Star, teamed up with Bobby Farrelly (Dumb and Dumber, There's Something About Mary) and released Lez Bomb in theatres. An action-packed holiday comedy that builds off their 2016 viral sensation, Girl Night Stand, which has amassed over 100 million streams.
Stanley also conceived Paul Natural in 2018, after collaborating with Cautious Clay on a remix of his song “Call Me,” which has streamed in the millions and continues to appear on playlists globally. In addition to his work as Paul Natural, Stanley has produced singles and LPs for emerging artists like Xoller, Dominic Augustin, and Sleepy Gary in 2021.
