Today, pop duo Misty Mtn shares “Weren’t Those The Days,” the title track from their forthcoming sophomore EP due out November 5th. Mixed by Ariel Loh (Yoke Lore, Cape Francis) and produced by Lucas Segall of Misty Mtn, “Weren’t Those The Days” is a meditative excursion reinforced by warm synths and intimate textures. The song is equally ethereal and striking due to Segall’s comforting, yet wandering bassline and Mo Trunzo’s delectably hazy vocals. Gracefully delivered by Trunzo, the lyrics "Somewhere along the way / We must have missed our train / We ran along the water tryna find our place" instill self-reflection and the fickleness of youth. “Weren’t Those The Days” captures this feeling of walking around your hometown and letting memories wash all over you.

“Lucas and I started making music together when we were both living in Brooklyn, NY. It was a time in both our lives that felt like such a struggle, but so romantic at the same time. When we started writing ‘Weren’t Those the Days’ life was feeling miles away from anything resembling that period. Discussing that brought on all this imagery for a song about being reminded of an ex-lover by the sights and sounds of the things you shared.”
Misty Mtn’s previous single, “In the Deep End,” is a fever dream of a track bolstered by Mo Trunzo’s full-bodied vocals and Lucas Segall’s otherworldly synths. Trunzo croons “All your fake friends / Left you in the deep end” revealing a portrait of despair while the sonic road is paved with intimacy and wistfulness. The understated yet captivating pop endeavor glides with elegance and tender conviction.
Misty Mtn worked on their upcoming EP during time spent in Montana. They're set to release Weren't Those The Days EP on November 5th with a move back to Los Angeles to pick up where they started pre-pandemic.
