#RisingArtist: We go deep in the waters to learn more about Atlantic Canyons
We had one of our longest conversations ever with the very talented Atlantic Canyons. We discuss everything from going after dreams, working with a community of artists one of which was the drummer of OKGO (We both started fangirling for a moment) to stand up routine. You can watch the whole interview up on youtube or on all podcast streaming sites.
Once a dedicated academic, indie artist Atlantic Canyons kicks off her music career with a touch of eccentricity and authenticity. She’s determined to express herself through art the way she’s always dreamed of doing, starting with her dreamy debut EP See The Hue. The EP has already taken the #1 spot for most EP adds on the The North American College & Community Radio Charts. Featuring seven alluring tracks including “One More Minute” and an entrancing title track, See The Hue is a delicate reflection of Atlantic Canyon’s past experiences, a creative outlet she leans on to digest life’s traumas and connect with her true identity. See The Hue is documentation of self-discovery, a journey that allowed Atlantic Canyons to blossom into the happiest version of herself. “It bears witness to feelings of fear and loneliness, and there is catharsis in acknowledging unpleasant emotions,” she reveals. “By allowing myself the freedom to experience these feelings without judgment, I became unburdened by them.” Written, recorded, and produced at her home in rural New Hampshire, See The Hue is an innovative,
genre-bending experience made possible by session musicians Atlantic Canyons met online. She gracefully blends traditional guitars and percussion with ethereal harmonies, taking inspiration from feelings of vulnerability that lay at the heart of her stylistic approach. The EP artistically manipulates elements of dream pop, trip-hop, and chamber pop to evoke calm, melancholy, and tenderness from listeners.
Atlantic Canyons (aka Andrea Levesque) is a mother of two, a baker, and a life-long musician who discovered her passion for the arts in her youth. In college, she joined her first band and has played in various groups since then, which led her to start a solo career with her debut EP. This EP, See the Hue has made the NACC Top 200 after its first week on college radio, even hitting the #1 spot for most adds for an EP.
See The Hue is the beginning of a new chapter for Atlantic Canyons, an opportunity to grow as an artist and establish peace with life.
