ONES TO WATCH #1 BEST NEW HARD ROCK BAND OF 2026

Vancouver, Canada | August 28, 2026 - Persian-Canadian alternative rock band Aemia have officially entered a new chapter, announcing their signing with Artist House alongside the release of their powerful new single, "Nowhere To Hide." Produced by JT Daly (PVRIS, K.Flay, Demi Lovato), the track marks the band's first release under their new label home and the next step for one of alternative rock's fastest-rising new voices.

“It’s rare to come across artists that have talent, a clear vision for where they’re headed and the conviction to get there”, shares Joe Ruzicka, A&R Co-Lead of Artist House. Aemia has all three, and that’s exactly what will make them the band that defines the next wave of rock.”

Dark, cinematic, and emotionally charged, "Nowhere To Hide" continues Aemia's signature balance of crushing guitars and soaring melodies. Written by vocalist Kimia "Mia" Ravangar and guitarist Kourosh Zarandooz, the song began with Kourosh's guitar-driven production before the band teamed with Daly to expand it into its final form with mix and master provided by Joseph McQueen at Sparrow Sound (Kehlani, Fever 333, The Ghost Inside). Beneath its towering hooks and brooding atmosphere lies a powerful exploration of psychological abuse and the struggle to break free from manipulation.

"We all go through moments where we feel absolutely stuck with no possible escape in sight”, shares Mia. “'Nowhere To Hide' is the abusive voice, tricking you into staying in mental chains forever, longer than you should, taking away your will to even think about getting out, by melodically manipulating you over and over to feed itself: 'Stop the fight, let's go my way.' 'I breathe you in, I feel alive.'

“It's a cautionary song. Writing this, I wanted everyone to hear what it's like from the outside to be fooled and sweet-talked into staying in an abusive state, and the incredibly difficult challenge to break free. It was very important for us to depict in the music video the permanent mark such experiences leave on us; the lifeless hands, marked forever by the chains."

The accompanying official music video was directed and edited by Mia herself, bringing the song's themes to life through striking visual symbolism. Featuring VFX by MikaDart and videography from Mershool and Lava Sood, the video expands Aemia's immersive creative world while underscoring the lasting scars left by psychological abuse.

Led by husband-and-wife duo Mia and Kourosh, Aemia's story is inseparable from their music. The pair first met in Tehran, Iran, where performing rock music - and for women, singing publicly - was forbidden. After their band was raided by police and their instruments confiscated, they eventually rebuilt their musical lives in Canada, channeling years of repression, resilience, and hope into a cinematic alternative rock sound that continues to resonate with audiences worldwide.

"Nowhere To Hide" follows a string of independent releases that have quickly established Aemia as one of alternative rock's most exciting emerging acts. Following their debut singles “Stars” and "From," the band sharpened their signature blend of heaviness and melody on "Kleptomaniac," earning placements on Spotify's Fresh Finds Heavy and Allure playlists, alongside Apple Music's Breaking Metal and Breaking Hard Rock. Earlier this year, "Zendebad" offered the band's most personal statement yet - a powerful anthem honoring the resilience of the Iranian people and the pursuit of freedom that lies at the heart of Aemia's story.

Along the way, the band was recognized by Loudwire as one of its 30 Rock + Metal Bands You Might Not Know But Will in 2026, named #1 on Ones To Watch's Best New Hard Rock Bands of 2026, and invited by The Recording Academy to perform as part of its GRAMMY Global Spin series. Across just four independent releases, Aemia have already amassed more than 1.8 million Spotify streams, 4 million YouTube views, and cultivated a passionate global audience eager for what's next.

Now signed to Artist House, Aemia are poised to carry that momentum into their most defining chapter yet - one driven by fearless songwriting, uncompromising artistry, and a story unlike any other in modern alternative rock.
