ARRIVES ALONGSIDE A CINEMATIC MUSIC VIDEO BY DANIIL X
March 20, 2026 — (Los Angeles, CA) — Today, unbreakable Detroit rapper Skilla Baby releases his new track “West to East” featuring fellow Motor City star 42 Dugg. The new single is as uncompromising as they come — a booming, streetwise ode to resilience and dominance that arrives alongside a gritty yet cinematic video. Watch HERE and listen HERE via Geffen Records.
Inspired from Skilla’s experiences, and sharpened by the duo’s undeniable camaraderie, “West to East” surges with earned confidence. Skilla sneers, “They tryna kick me out Detroit,” before spitting merciless bars at his would-be haters. Dugg lets loose his signature whistle, then joins in on the fun. Opening on the voice of late, great Detroit rap legend Blade Icewood, the track is co-produced by Skilla with Go Grizzly, Mars, Dash, and D’jaun Wiggins.
The song also continues a meaningful collaboration that was crystallized when Skilla made a surprise on-stage appearance with Dugg last summer. It was an indelible show of Detroit strength and loyalty, and the two reunited earlier this year on Dugg’s celebratory single, “Thick One,” found on his celebrated Part 3 mixtape.
Directed by Daniil X (Leon Thomas, Hit-Boy), the “West to East” video is further testament to that partnership, dropping Skilla and Dugg into a high-stakes, high-speed narrative. In one moment, they’re on top of the world — in the next, everything turns upside down as the clip takes on a documentary-style first-person urgency.
Skilla recently teased new music on Instagram — see HERE and HERE — but he’s mostly been grinding behind the scenes in between clutch features. Over the past year or so, the in-demand artist has popped out to appear on DDG’s “gta,” Finesse2rymes’ “Outta My Mind,” “NBA” with RTB MB and RTB Capo, and EmanuelDaProphet’s “LIL ANGEL ‘SHE HER’,” among others.
Prior to that, Skilla dropped his Crack Music 3 mixtape, which included highlights like “Jwett,” “Donavan McNabb,” the 4Batz-assisted “So Bad,” “Sensual” featuring Toosi, and “Controversy 2” with Tee Grizzley. Just ahead of the release, Skilla celebrated his birthday with a pair of hometown shows creative-directed by none other than artistic powerhouse Teyana Taylor. Guests included Sada Baby, Tee Grizzley, G Herbo, YTB Fatt, Bfb Da Packman, and more.
All of that followed the Deluxe Edition of The Coldest mixtape, which dropped the same month that Skilla scored the fan-voted “People’s Champ” slot on the XXL 2024 Freshman Class cover. Skilla Baby has turned adversity into fuel for his music.
