On Tour Now with Ben Quad, Riley! and Aren’t We Amphibians

March 20, 2026 – Chicago, IL – Footballhead have released their highly anticipated new album today. ‘Weight of The Truth’ is now available to stream on all digital platforms and for purchase. Prior to its release, the band released the singles and music videos for “Used To Be” and “Diversion” and “Fall Away”.

"Weight of the Truth" is not only the title track of our upcoming record, but also the sonic centerpiece,” says the band. We feel that it encapsulates the past, present, and future of our band - aggressive yet tender; brash but lyrically insightful. Sometimes, bracing for and accepting the inevitable is all we can do.”

Footballhead wears their 2000s-era influences on their waffle-knit long sleeves, with power chord drives and pummeling choruses, all sequenced together like the teeth of a skeleton key able to unlock core memories for people who’ve either been there or people who simply wonder what being there was like. For a generation that came of age during the cultural shift of the 2000s and all its lingering cynicism - the parade of illusions shattered between 9/11, the 2008 financial crisis, and everything since - the lesson learned from looking back on sub generic movements like stomp-clap indie cosplay and barred-out dubstep drops might well be that chasing authenticity makes you look like a sucker. Tongue-in-cheek pastiche is all there is left.

“With the release this new album, we are taking the largest leap yet into the deep end of our influences,” they continue. “Borrowing from the downturned aggression of turn-of-the-millennium radio rock, mall emo, and reverb-drenched alternative rock, our musical scope has never been wider. With this record, we are aiming to become the hard rock darlings that we grew up adoring.”

With their debut album ‘Overthinking Everything’ released in March 2024 - and hailed as one of the ‘Most Anticipated Albums of 2024’ by Stereogum, the band received radio spins globally from the acclaimed Triple J in Australia and rock stations across Europe and North/South America. They hit the road in 2025 with national support tours for One Step Closer and Superbloom alongside shows opening for Hot Mulligan, Drain, The Used, Taking Back Sunday, Senses Fail and Sweet Pill among others and made their mainstream festival debut at Riot Fest in Chicago in September 2025.

What sets Footballhead’s capital-R Rock sound apart from contemporaries is - in addition to just sounding better - a desire and an ability to thread the needle between paying homage to a quasi-idyllic past and pursuing an earnest future.

Footballhead is currently composed of guitarist and vocalist Snow Ellet, guitarist and vocalist Ryan Nolen, guitarist Liam Burns, bassist Nathan Spainhower, and drummer Andrew Smith.
